Wash Bays – Efficient And Effective Heavy Equipment Cleaning
Mi-T-M wash bays are built for industrial and commercial equipment cleaning with the added benefit of keeping customer operations within compliance.
How Wash Bays Work
Work vehicles and equipment enter the wash bay area and are either sprayed off by a pressure washer or water cannon, rinsing off dirt, grime and grease. Angled to catch the dirty water, the catch basin is below the wash pad and leads to a water treatment recycling system. The contaminants are separated from the water and drained into a disposal system, while the water is stored separately for future reuse.
What It Contains
Efficiently and effectively clean trucks and equipment using an on-site wash bay. By rinsing away excess mud, oil and other contaminants, vehicles can run better, and equipment can function properly and last longer. Within a wash bay, there is a wash pad, pressure washer, catch basin, recycling machine and disposal system.

Save Money while Saving the Environment
Wash bays provide the ability to clean equipment, while disposing of wastewater safely. Contaminants washed from general work site equipment can have a harmful effect on the environment, but by using a wash bay, it collects the pollutants and keeps them from spreading. After dirty water is run through the recycling system, it can be stored and re-used.

Types of Wash Bays
Wash bays can be permanent or mobile, depending on what you need it for. For sites that are temporary, a portable wash bay can help clean what you need throughout the duration of that site’s location. No matter the type of wash bay you choose, you can depend on it to properly recycle dirty wash water and dispose of its contaminants.
To help you decide on the specifications your wash bay will need, Mi-T-M’s dealers have the knowledge to assist you. By designing, supplying and installing your new wash bay, you can have peace of mind knowing it was completed by the experts. From start to finish, our dealers will be there to answer any questions you may have along the way.
Water Treatment Systems – No Two Installations Are Alike.
Mi-T-M has been in the Water Treatment business since 1998. Over the years, we’ve had a great deal of success in a variety of different water treatment industries including rental, implement dealers, golf courses, wineries, breweries and municipalities. Each industry has their own, unique challenges when it comes to water treatment systems and no two installations are alike.
To select the best treatment solution for your business, you will need to determine how much water you wish to treat in a 24-hour period, what substances you need to remove from the wastewater, and whether you’ll be recycling or discharging that wastewater. The following are three types of water treatment systems we sell at Mi-T-M:
- Biological (BIO) Treatment Series: used as a discharge or closed loop system. Using this series, microbes consume organic waste in your wastewater and produce carbon dioxide and clean water.
- Water/Oil Separator (WOS and WCL) Series: this system employs oil to attract media. When the separated oil floats to the surface, an oil skimmer sends the oil to a decanter for easy removal.
- Wash Water Recycle Systems (WLP and WCP) Series: this series is designed to remove free hydrocarbons and filter water to be sent back through a pressure washer.
As our technology evolved, the Mi-T-M Biological Reclaim Systems became one of our most requested products because of its versatility and simplicity. A Biological system is designed to consume contaminants that other systems may only isolate from wastewater. Mi-T-M’s Bio Series harnesses the power of these genetically engineered bacteria through a unique process that is chemical free and environmentally safe. “It’s a simple, effective way to filter out waste, and create clean, reusable water,” says Aaron Auger, Mi-T-M Water Treatment Division Manager. “It’s what we call, ‘The Process of Elimination’.”
Grease, oil, hydrocarbons and other naturally occurring substances are a food source for millions of microbes that colonize within a Mi-T-M Biological system. As wastewater drains underground, it’s pumped to a bio-reaction tank. In the tank, the untreated wastewater flows through separate chambers, home to colonies of hungry microbes. The stream of water changes direction countless times for maximum microbe contact. The microbes “treat” the water by consuming any organic materials in the water, including oil and grease. The microbes live for this consumption, and the Mi-T-M system provides the three basic elements they need to survive: food, environment, and oxygen.
Once the microbes have done their work, a pressurized tank delivers the biologically treated water for reuse.
The WOS and WCL Series recycle systems are designed to discharge equipment and vehicle wash-water to sanitary sewers. The oil/water/solids separators will reduce the amount of suspended solids while removing hydrocarbons to meet local sanitary sewer discharge requirements. Note to always check local discharge regulations and limits.

The WLP and WCP Series recycle systems are designed to remove free hydrocarbons and filter the water to be sent back through a pressure washer. Once equipment is washed, the untreated wash-water flows into your pit system. A proper pit system for your application is essential in proper wash-water treatment, and a critical element in any wash-water recycle system. The systems come standard with pH and ORP injection and all systems are designed for corrosion-resistance by using stainless-steel tanks.
