Pressure Washer Detergent
There are several pressure washer detergents that can be used with a Mi-T-M pressure washer to boost its cleaning power. An all-purpose cleaner is perfect for heavily soiled areas around the outside of your home. This tutorial will show you how to get the most out of your power washer detergent.
Using an Electric-Powered Pressure Washer
To apply detergent using an electric-powered pressure washer, first prepare the unit for standard operation. When using detergents, you must first attach the black, low-pressure nozzle to the gun and wand assembly.
Locate the clear detergent pick-up hose that is already attached to the pressure washer pump. Simply submerge the end of this hose into the bottle of detergent, and make sure it stays submerged during the washing process.
Using a Gas-Powered Pressure Washer
To apply detergent using a gas-powered pressure washer, first prepare the unit for standard operation. However, before connecting the high pressure hose, insert the pressure washer detergent injector into the quick coupler mounted on the pump. Now connect the high pressure hose to the water inlet on the pump and insert the clear pick-up hose into the bottle of detergent. Make sure the hose stays submerged during the washing process.
After attaching the hose to the gun assembly, you're ready to start cleaning with detergent. When using detergent on a house or other building, start at the bottom and work your way up to avoid streaking.
When you are ready to rinse, remove the pressure washer detergent injector hose from the bottle of detergent. Replace the black detergent nozzle with a high pressure nozzle. Then, beginning at the top of the building, begin rinsing until all of the detergent is removed. Do not allow the detergent to dry on the surface you are cleaning, and be sure to thoroughly rinse the surface.
