Made In The USA
The ability to work and provide value to a company, community and neighborhood has given Americans a certain purpose for generations. Mi-T-M Corporation’s employees are proud to be part of a team that builds American-made products.
The Mi-T-M brand is well known around the world for high quality products and unequaled workmanship. The industrial grade equipment is used across many industries by paint and construction contractors, farmers, steel workers, homeowners and even the United States government.
Mi-T-M was founded in 1971 by A.J. Spiegel, a professional paint contractor who saw the need for a portable pressure washer. Mi-T-M’s flagship product is a 1000-PSI cold water pressure washer called the “Mighty 1000.” The name was soon abbreviated to “Mi-T” and paired with the Roman numeral “M” for 1000, A.J. Spiegel had a unique name for his new company…Mi-T-M.
Over 400 loyal and hard-working employees uphold the Mi-T-M Promise “to deliver unmatched performance from the quality of our products to the dedication of each employee who does what’s right for our customer — every time.”
What started as a dream, is now a world-renowned American success story. Today, Mi-T-M manufactures thousands of products in a facility that includes a fabrication division to shape and paint the framework from raw steel. These parts are delivered to 26 production lines where components are assembled. The 1-million square foot facility also features two engineering test rooms, one certification test room and one service test room to ensure the quality of every product before it is shipped out the door.
In 2021, just in time for his company’s 50th Anniversary, A.J. Spiegel announced the sale of his company to his employees. Mi-T-M became an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) to not only continue as a privately owned company, but to also ensure it remained part of the local community. Mi-T-M employee’s ownership in the company will provide purpose for generations to come.
Should I Choose an Electric or Gasoline Pressure Washer?
After much consideration, you finally decided to invest in a pressure washer. Now comes the task of deciding with model is best for you.
Mi-T-M prides itself in offering a wide range of pressure washers to fit every cleaning need. We cater to many industries to provide the perfect cleaning solution based on many factors. Just one of those factors is deciding between an electric driven pressure washer and a gas driven pressure washer. One of the first questions to ask yourself before making this choice is where your power will come from. Do you have access to electricity wherever you need to clean? If your cleaning needs take you to a location where finding available electricity is going to be a problem, then a gas driven pressure washer is the best choice.
Often customers choose an electric powered pressure washer if they have a need to use it indoors, because the electric motors emit no fuel fumes. For food and beverage companies, such as breweries and commercial kitchens who must keep work surfaces and floors clean and sanitized, an electric powered pressure washer will be the best option.
Mi-T-M offers a large selection of pressure washers in both electric and gas driven models. Many claim that a gas-powered pressure washer is more powerful than electric. However, Mi-T-M manufactures industrial electric pressure washers with up to 5000-PSI of cleaning power. With that much power, an electric pressure washer can tackle most any cleaning job.
Let’s look at some of the key differences between an electric and gas pressure washer that may help with your decision.
An electric powered pressure washer is affordable and effective. Mi-T-M’s residential line of electric washers typically have a lower upfront cost and require less maintenance than their gas counterparts. They are much easier to start and, as you might guess, are quieter than gas models. Because they are light-weight and user-friendly, Mi-T-M electric pressure washers are very popular in the residential market.
Mi-T-M manufactures both cold and hot water electric pressure washers that are used in commercial and industrial industries. These models are built to withstand even the toughest jobs on construction sites and in commercial and industrial facilities. The advantages of purchasing an electric pressure washer are great, however, keep in mind, an electric power source must be accessible for you to use them.
Gas powered pressure washers are known for their durability and that is why you find them most often in the commercial and industrial market places. However, Mi-T-M does manufacture a line of gas powered pressure washers for residential use. Available from 1400 to 3000-PSI, gas pressure washers are great for those who want more portability than an electric washer can offer.
Mi-T-M manufactures both cold and hot water gas powered pressure washers for commercial and industrial use. They are designed to provide the power, reliability and versatility businesses need. Often found in the agricultural, trucking and construction industries, they are used for property and equipment maintenance and cleaning at commercial and industrial facilities.
Because a gas pressure washer is powered by an internal combustion engine, your maintenance costs will be higher than with an electric pressure washer. Keeping an eye on fuel and oil levels will need to become a part of your regular maintenance routine. Winterizing a gas powered pressure washer requires more effort than electric models, but with proper maintenance and upkeep, your investment will be worth it.
As you can see when it comes to choosing between an electric or gas pressure washer, you’ll need to ask yourself how and where it will be used, what your budget is and how much time you can devote to maintaining your investment. Either way, once you start using it, you’ll wonder how you ever got along without one.

Tips to Prepare Your Equipment for Spring Use
When you invest in equipment, whether it is a pressure washer, generator, air compressor or any other type of equipment, keeping it in top running condition requires proper maintenance. End of season maintenance is one the most important tasks you can do to keep your equipment in its best working condition for many years.
Most seasonal equipment needs to be winterized before cold weather arrives. If you store your equipment where the temperatures will fall below 32-degrees Fahrenheit, protect it by following the proper winterizing procedures that are included in your manual. Product manuals for all Mi-T-M equipment can be found on our website and make sure to check out this pressure washer winterizing video for extra guidance.
Here are a few general winterizing tips:
- For equipment that runs water through a pump, such as a pressure washer, make sure water is removed completely from the pump and all accessories used with the unit. Refer to your manual for the proper winterizing process, which will include running a pump conditioner or winterizer through the pump. This includes all electric driven and engine powered pressure washers.
- Disconnect and dry all attachments.
- Add a quality fuel stabilizer to fresh fuel and run the engine for a few minutes to circulate it.
- Check and tighten spark plugs or replace if necessary.
- For air compressors, make sure you open all drains to get rid of condensation. Inspect and clean air filters, replace if necessary. Check guards and covers to make sure they are properly in place.
- Giving your equipment a good cleaning before storing it will help keep the unit free from rust and corrosion. Using equipment covers adds protection.
As you can see, the most important tip for preparing your equipment for use in the spring, is making sure it is properly maintained and winterized. When spring rolls around, you will be confident your equipment will run properly and be ready when you are.
Here is a quick spring checklist, but again, check your manuals for proper startup so you get the most out of your equipment.
- Change the engine and pump oil.
- Flush out antifreeze or winterizer from pumps.
- Clean or replace the air filter, if you didn’t do so before storing.
- Drain old fuel and refill with fresh fuel.
- Inspect all hoses and attachments for leaks and cracks that may have occurred over the winter.
- Start up the equipment to make sure it is running correctly before you need to use it.
- If you suspect something isn’t right, contact your service center to help diagnose the problem.
Purchasing your equipment is an investment, it takes very little time and effort to protect it and ensure you will enjoy using it for many years.
Pressure Washing – The Ultimate Pressure Washer Guide
The Ultimate Guide to Pressure Washing
As a busy homeowner, it’s easy to let maintenance and home projects fall by the wayside. Pressure washing is an excellent method to make fast work of built-up grime, mud, mold and mildew on surfaces. Mi-T-M Corporation is your trusted provider of high-quality and dependable residential, commercial and industrial pressure washers.
In 1971, Mi-T-M’s founder, AJ Spiegel realized the need for portable, economical and powerful cleaners. With a background in painting and cleaning, he built a 1000 PSI gas powered unit. It was a humble, but important step. We’ve come a long way since then and today we not only offer numerous pressure washers, but also hundreds of other types of equipment.
With a variety of sizes and types of pressure washers, our powerful Mi-T-M machines can help you clean patios, driveways, decks, siding, pools, fencing, lawn furniture and even help you prep for painting.
We’ve prepared an ultimate step-by-step guide on pressure washing to help you learn how to properly pressure wash around your home. Along with our how-to videos, we believe you’ll be an expert in no time and your home will be the envy of the neighborhood.
Below are some tips and tricks for every pressure washing cleaning task!
No matter the cleaning project, safety is always first priority when operating a pressure washer. It is important to always avoid high-voltage areas, including electrical lines, conduits and electrical appliances. Make sure to always wear proper safety gear, including ear and eye protection as well as closed toe shoes.
Pressure Washing Brick Siding
Brick homes are beautiful, sturdy and timeless, but just like other home surfaces, brick becomes dirty, mossy and needs regular maintenance. Unlike many other home materials, brick is porous and more prone to discoloration and structural damage. Therefore, before you attempt to pressure wash your brick home, you should know the proper methods for cleaning this type of surface.
First, survey the surface to look for any cracks or holes between bricks. You must repair them before you start pressure washing. Carefully patch these areas with mortar and let them cure for at least a week. Once they’re dry, you can begin pressure washing.
Follow the below steps for brick pressure washing:
- Prep your surface: Soak and saturate the brick with water. This will prevent the bricks from absorbing harsh detergents.
- Test an area: Test a small area of brick in order to gauge the amount of pressure needed to complete the cleaning task at hand.
- Detergent: Apply a detergent for cleaning brick, spray the detergent from bottom to top in order to prevent streaking and then allow it to soak into the brick for 5-10 minutes. NOTE: Do not allow the detergent to fully dry on your surface.
- Rinse your surface: Finish the cleaning process by gently spraying water across the surface to rinse all detergent and residue away.
Remember, you can always choose to apply a brick-and-mortar sealant. Your local hardware store can help you select one that’s made exclusively for brick.
Pressure Washing Vinyl Siding
Vinyl is a popular choice for home siding. It’s a low-maintenance, inexpensive material that never needs to be painted. But, it’s also notorious for accumulating mold, mildew, dirt and debris.
An important thing to note before you begin pressure washing is that vinyl siding is malleable, so you cannot blast it with too much force or pressure.
Follow the below steps for pressure washing vinyl siding:
- Scan your surroundings: Take a look at the areas surrounding your home. Use a drop cloth or plastic tablecloth to protect any shrubs or bushes that could potentially get damaged by your high-pressure spray.
- Quick Connect Nozzles: Make sure to choose a correct quick connect nozzle. We recommend using the 15-degree quick connect nozzle, as it is the best choice for this task. Stand 3 to 4 feet away and keep the nozzle moving to avoid damaging your surface.
- Test an area: Test a small area of vinyl in order to gauge the amount of pressure needed to complete the cleaning task at hand.
- Pre-rinse your siding: Before apply detergent, pressure wash your siding from top to bottom using clean water.
- Detergent: Apply your detergent mixture using a lower pressure setting. Working from bottom to top, aim for smooth and steady strokes from left to right with your spray wand. Keep the wand pointed slightly downward to avoid spraying underneath any gaps in the vinyl siding.
- Rinse your surface: Finish the cleaning process by gently spraying water across the surface to rinse all detergent and residue. Start at the top and work your way down.
Pressure Washing Your Deck
You love your deck. It’s a great place to read, relax and entertain. Make sure you learn the proper way to preserve and protect it.
Follow the below steps for pressure washing your deck:
- Prep your surface: Sweep, rinse and wet your deck thoroughly. Make sure you’ve removed all loose debris and dirt.
- Test an area: Test a small area of your deck’s surface in order to gauge the amount of pressure needed to complete the cleaning task at hand.
- Quick connect nozzles: Use a 25-degree quick connect nozzle. This size nozzle is best for sweeping away dirt, mud and mildew from decks and other surfaces.
- Pressure washing: Keep a distance of 8 to 12 inches from the surface and use a sweeping motion along the grain of the wood to avoid damage. Make sure you keep the nozzle moving at all times to prevent uneven spots or lap marks.
- Allow to dry and finishing: Once you clean the entire deck, allow the surface to dry for at least 24 hours. To extend the life and appearance of your deck, apply a quality deck-coating or sealant.
Pressure Washing Concrete Surfaces
Our pressure washers will make quick work of discolored and dirty concrete. Choose from our large selection of gas and electric powered pressure washers to get the job done right. Your concrete surfaces will be looking brand new in no time!
Follow the below steps for pressure washing concrete surfaces:
- Prep your surface area: Pick up and move things like lawn furniture, toys and potted plants that could be damaged during pressure washing.
- Detergent: Apply a detergent best suited for concrete surfaces. Attach your spray wand, use the soap tip and begin applying detergent. Give the detergent around 10 minutes to soak into your concrete surface.
- Pressure washing: When the detergent has permeated your concrete, it’s time to blast away all the accumulated build-up. Switch to a high-pressure spray, keep your nozzle at least 10 inches away from the surface and use smooth back and forth motions, overlapping each pass by five or more inches. NOTE: For really dirty patches, you may need to make several passes with your pressure washer.
Pressure Washing Fencing
Now that you’ve pressure washed your siding, deck and concrete surfaces, don’t neglect other property areas like fences.
- Prep your area: Clear away any objects and/or cover plants and bushes near the fence line. This will give you direct access to the fence and prevent damage.
- Quick Connect Nozzles: Select the right quick connect nozzle. We recommend a 25-degree nozzle to begin. However, if you need more power, you can always switch to a 15-degree nozzle. Be sure to keep a safe distance from the fencing to avoid damage.
- Detergent: Apply a detergent – we recommend a commercial grade detergent – while holding the sprayer around 3 to 4 feet away from the fence’s surface. Let the cleaning solution sink in and do its magic for about 10 minutes. NOTE: For wooden fencing, do not hold the sprayer in one place, as it may cause damage to the wood. Use different angles and move in closer if needed.
- Rinse your surface: Rinse your fence thoroughly with fresh water.
The final step to end any pressure washing task, is to celebrate a job well done.
We hope our ultimate guide has shown you how to use a pressure washer to accomplish many of your outdoor cleaning tasks.

Storm Safety Tips to Protect Your Family
With ever-changing weather patterns, from snow in Texas and extreme heat in Oregon, it is always good to have a plan before unpredicted weather arrives.
Spring, summer and fall all come with the opportunity for severe storm threats. Depending on where you live, those threats come in the form of tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and a phenomenon called a derecho, producing winds that can reach over 100 miles per hour. Iowa experienced a devastating derecho in August of 2020 that left 400,000 without power for weeks.
Winter storms produce strong winds, heavy snow and ice that can take power lines down, resulting in the loss of electricity for hours or several days. Combined with the extreme cold that often accompanies winter storms, not having a plan in place could put your family at great risk.
Planning ahead will give you peace of mind that your family will know what to do when storms hit. In the case of floods and hurricanes, follow the directions of your local Emergency Management Teams and seek shelter. Here are some precautions to consider for your home.
- Make sure all phones are charged and you have extra batteries for radios, flashlights and lanterns.
- Always have an extra supply of water. Before and after storms hit, water shortages are very common.
- Keep a stock of nonperishable foods in your pantry.
- Consider the individual needs of each family member, including medications and plan ahead.
- Make sure you have extra blankets, coats, mittens and warm hats accessible for your family.
The above is just a short list of precautions. Where you live and your family’s unique needs should be considered as you make your plans. For those who cannot be without power for any length of time, you may want to consider investing in a generator.
Generators are available in many sizes and price ranges. The size of a generator is measured in wattages and that is what you will use to determine what you can safely power with the generator you choose.
Mi-T-M manufactures a wide range of inverter and portable generators. Inverter generators offer clean power for sensitive equipment such as cell phones, laptops and medical equipment. Portable generators can not only be used as a backup generator when you lose power, but are most found in commercial and industrial construction settings. All generators manufactured by Mi-T-M are gas or diesel powered and therefore cannot be used indoors. Although, many come with a built-in CO detector and automatic shutdown, no generator should ever be used indoors. Make sure they are always running in a well-ventilated area.
To help you determine which size generator is best for your needs check out this reference guide.
Those who not only lose power, but are also subjected to extreme cold, may want to also consider investing in a propane or kerosene portable heater. Mi-T-M manufactures a full line of forced air and radiant heaters that can be essential if a winter storm not only knocks out power, but leaves you stranded because of huge snowfalls and ice accumulations. Because of the danger of carbon monoxide build up, never operate these portable heaters indoors or without proper ventilation.
Extreme weather is usually unpredictable and hopefully these tips will help you prepare for whatever comes your way. If you find yourself in the market for a Mi-T-M generator or portable heater, contact our sales support team at 800-553-9053 or find a dealer near you, and they can help you find the best solution for your needs.

Maintaining Your Mi-T-M Generator
Whether your generator is used on a jobsite or needed during an emergency, you want your generator to be in its best working condition. Regular cleaning and maintenance of your generator will ensure a long life, so you can have reliable power every time.
The main steps to generator maintenance include:
- Cleaning the Exterior
- Overall Inspection
- Changing Oil & Cleaning Air Filters
- Checking Spark Plug, Hoses, Etc.
- Preparing for Storage
For your safety, make sure you have the generator in a well-ventilated area for cleaning and maintenance. Be sure you read the manual, as it is your go-to guide for your specific Mi-T-M generator model! The manual provides maintenance details, including a periodic chart, so you know how often everything needs checked and maintained. Following the maintenance guidelines and directions help you get the most out of your Mi-T-M generator for years to come.
For basic maintenance, gather all your supplies in advance. That includes rags, oil pan, fresh engine oil, warm soapy water for filter cleaning, your owner’s manual and gloves to protect your hands.
Cleaning Your Generator’s Exterior
The first step for optimal operation is a good cleaning. You will want to keep your generator clean and free of dust, dirt and grime. The best way to clean it is with dry rags or shop towels. It just takes a few minutes to wipe off the frame and panels to remove any surface dust and grime. Cleaning your generator’s exterior also allows you to inspect all parts of the generator to ensure they are all in working order.
You may use low pressure air to clean off dust, but do not use a water hose, sprayer or power washer to clean your generator. Using those allows water into the air intake and other areas, and the water will damage your generator.
Inspect Hoses, Fittings & Fuel Cap
Inspection is something anyone can do to maintain a generator. You should inspect it daily when in use, as well as, before use and after sitting in storage.
After you clean the generator, inspect the fuel hoses and fittings, fuel tank and fuel cap. Depending on what model you own, you may need to remove a side panel to access the inside of the generator unit. The carbon canister and mounting brackets should also get a close look. Tighten anything that is loose, such as the oil drain plug. Look for cracks, leaks or abnormal wear on the hoses and parts. To maintain your warranty and receive qualified Mi-T-M generator service, contact a service center to replace any parts, as needed.
Changing the Air Filter & Oil
As with any gas engine, one of the key factors to generator maintenance involves regular oil changes and a clean air filter. These tasks are especially important if you run your generator in a dusty, dirty environment, such as a construction site or shop.
First, let’s review the oil change process. The oil should be changed after the first 20 hours of operation, then every 100 hours after that. You should make a regular practice of checking the oil level before starting the generator.
When you are ready to change the oil, stop the engine and get an oil pan ready. Drain the oil, then put the oil drain plug back. Following the instructions for your Mi-T-M generator model, refill the oil with the proper type of oil to the oil level indicated. Wipe up any oil spills around or on the generator, and recycle the old oil at your solid waste agency.
The air filter plays an important role in the efficiency of the generator. If it is dirty, that will make the generator work harder and use more fuel, so cleaning is key when it has a heavy buildup of dust. To access the air filter, you’ll need to unscrew the air cleaner cover and pull out the foam filter. Foam air filters can be washed in warm, soapy water, rinsed and then squeezed to help it dry. Let it air dry, then lightly coat with new engine oil, squeeze out excess oil and replace the filter.
Spark plugs and spark arrestor should also be checked frequently for carbon buildup. If the spark plug is dirty, clean it using a plug cleaner or wire brush. Check the spark plug type and spark plug gap according to your generator model’s manual. Replace with a new spark plug as needed.
The spark arrestor should be looked at every 100 hours or so. It is close to the exhaust, so perform this check when the unit is cool. Once removed, you can brush off carbon deposits on the spark arrestor screen and inspect it for breaks or tears.
If you can’t make time in your workday to check and clean spark plugs, contact a Mi-T-M service center to schedule an appointment with a technician. It’s a good idea to have a professional check out anything you have a question about before you put your generator to use or in storage.
Prepare for Storage
Many Mi-T-M generator owners only use their generator when needed for emergencies or short-term use on a remote jobsite where utility access isn’t readily available. Be sure to prepare your generator for short-term storage (less than 6 months) or long-term storage. For both lengths of storage, the first step is to add a gasoline stabilizer according to the directions.
For short-term storage
Run the unit for at least two minutes to mix the fuel and stabilizer. Close the fuel valve and run your generator until it stops.
For long-term storage
Run the generator until the fuel is completely gone from the fuel tank and carburetor. As the engine begins to die, move the choke lever to the CHOKE position.
Finally, clean and protect the exterior of the generator and store it in a dry, well-ventilated location.
Refer to your Mi-T-M generator manual or reach out to a Mi-T-M service center for details about keeping your generator running when you need it the most.
Should you get a kerosene or propane portable heater?
Kerosene or Propane Portable Heater
If you spend a lot of time outdoors or enjoy working in your garage or workshop, propane and kerosene heaters from Mi-T-M will help keep you warm all year round. Our heaters come in all different shapes and sizes, and we offer dozens of portable heating options. Always remember, all units require proper ventilation while in use.
As you begin shopping, here are 4 questions you should ask yourself before making a purchase:
- Where and when will you use the heater? We recommend different models for different uses. In a ventilated garage or on a worksite, you might prefer a kerosene forced air model. For dinner parties on the deck, try our outdoor patio heater.
- Do you prefer a kerosene or propane model? Kerosene is combustible, burns strongly and offers a strong amount of heat. By contrast, propane burns cleaner and tanks can easily be found at most gas stations and grocery stores.
- How long will you need to run the heater? A propane model running off a 20-pound propane cylinder set at low will last for up to 72 hours and set at high will last for 24 hours, depending on the model. However, if you just need some warmth while you’re in your garage, you might prefer a kerosene forced air heater.
- Will you need to carry the heater long distances? If so, you will need to consider the weight and wheel kit of each model. Many units already feature wheel kits for portability, so make sure to consider how far you will need to transport your heater to and from jobsites and work areas.
Kerosene Portable Heaters
The heat from our models of kerosene heaters—measured in British thermal units (BTU’s)—range from 75,000 up to 600,000 BTU’s per gallon. Mi-T-M’s kerosene air heaters provide dependable heat for large ventilated areas up to 15,000 square feet. They feature built-in temperature control and sure start ignition.
Propane Portable Heaters
Mi-T-M propane heaters offer 40,000 up to 375,000 BTU’s per gallon. Mi-T-M’s propane heaters are lightweight, portable and ideal for drying and heating well ventilated workspaces. Mi-T-M offers several options of propane heaters, including propane forced air that are perfect for jobsites, propane tank-top radiant with variable heat controls, propane radiant outdoor patio heater and our propane cabinet utility heater. Just add a propane cylinder, plug in your heater and stay comfortable in cold temperatures.
Portable heaters can be used in a variety of situations and locations – for emergency power outages, to heat outdoor events, in ventilated garages and work areas, on construction sites and much more. Wherever and whenever you need warmth, a portable heater is the perfect solution.

Wash Bays – Efficient And Effective Heavy Equipment Cleaning
Mi-T-M wash bays are built for industrial and commercial equipment cleaning with the added benefit of keeping customer operations within compliance.
How it Works
Work vehicles and equipment enter the wash pad area and are either sprayed off by a pressure washer or water cannon, rinsing off dirt, grime and grease. Angled to catch the dirty water, the catch basin is below the wash pad and leads to a water treatment recycling system. The contaminants are separated from the water and drained into a disposal system, while the water is stored separately for future reuse.
What It Contains
Efficiently and effectively clean trucks and equipment using an on-site wash bay. By rinsing away excess mud, oil and other contaminants, vehicles can run better, and equipment can function properly and last longer. Within a wash bay, there is a wash pad, pressure washer, catch basin, recycling machine and disposal system.
Save Money while Saving the Environment
Wash bays provide the ability to clean equipment, while disposing of wastewater safely. Contaminants washed from general work site equipment can have a harmful effect on the environment, but by using a wash bay, it collects the pollutants and keeps them from spreading. After dirty water is run through the recycling system, it can be stored and re-used.
Types of Wash Bays
Wash bays can be permanent or mobile, depending on what you need it for. For sites that are temporary, a portable wash bay can help clean what you need throughout the duration of that site’s location. No matter the type of wash bay you choose, you can depend on it to properly recycle dirty wash water and dispose of its contaminants.
To help you decide on the specifications your wash bay will need, Mi-T-M’s dealers have the knowledge to assist you. By designing, supplying and installing your new wash bay, you can have peace of mind knowing it was completed by the experts. From start to finish, our dealers will be there to answer any questions you may have along the way.
Air Compressors for Automotive Applications
Air compressors can be used for a wide range of applications in the automotive industry. Pneumatic tools make auto repair and body work easier when paired with the correct compressor, but how do you choose an air compressor best suited for your application?
Choosing an Air Compressor for an Automotive Shop
When deciding on an air compressor for an automotive shop, you first need to define how the air compressor will be used. You want to match the specs of the air compressor to your needs. Taking the following questions into consideration will help guide you to the right air compressor choice.
What air pressure and CFM do you need for your tools or sprayers?
Each tool is rated to use a specific amount of CFM at a certain PSI. For example, a paint spray gun may require 5 CFM at 70 PSI, where as a 9” grinder may use 17.5 CFM at 90 PSI. Doing an audit on tools each technician uses, in addition to the average amount of time the tools are used, will help determine the size of compressor needed. Mi-T-M offers both 80-gallon and 120-gallon simplex and duplex models at 5 to 15 horsepower; 18 to 93 CFM at 175 PSI. If you’re curious about the CFM and PSI requirements on a variety of tools, check out Mi-T-M’s Air Equipment Estimating Guide.
What is your power source for the air compressor?
It’s important to know what phase and voltage power your location has. Do you have 230V 1Ø or 460V 3Ø? The air compressor you choose needs to match in order to work properly. Consult an electrician to verify which phase and voltage power you have.
How much space do you have allocated for the compressor?

Pressure washers come in a variety of styles, as well as electric or gas powered. A generator is perfect for home, camping or other recreational activities enjoyed throughout the year. You’ll be faced with two main options when looking for generators: traditional generators and inverter generators.
Inverter generators are much quieter than traditional generators. Mi-T-M ’s new line of inverters are equipped with carbon monoxide detection and automatic shut-off if CO levels become unsafe. They feature inverter technology and provide reliable clean power for sensitive electronics.
Generators are great for recreational use, such as powering lights and TVs at a tailgate, as well as emergency back-up power. Mi-T-M generators are powerful enough to act as a backup power source in case a home’s electricity ever goes out.
These handy generators are easily transportable.
The Mi-T-M ChoreMaster Series is a great option if you think the recipient would use it as both a recreational and emergency tool.
Everyone enjoys convenience, and that is exactly what Mi-T-M air compressors provide. There are a variety of air compressors that meet a wide range of needs. Mi-T-M air compressors are available in portable and hand-carry models and the tanks can range in size from 3 to 120-gallons. Winterizing Your Pressure Washer
The cold weather is almost here, so don’t forget to winterize your pressure washer. Below are some key factors to consider before putting your unit away for the season.
Winterizing your pressure washer is very important, not only to keep the components from freezing, but to also extend the life of the pressure washer itself.
For gas powered units, it is important to add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank to prevent tarnish build-up in the carburetor while it is being stored.
You should add the fuel stabilizer according to directions from the manufacturer. It is recommended, after adding the stabilizer, to run the engine for at least two minutes to circulate the fluid throughout the system, and then shut it off.
Any detergent in gas and electric powered units should be flushed before storage to avoid growing mold and mildew.
To do this, place the unit’s detergent injector tube into a bucket of clean water. Start your pressure washer and run it at a low-pressure setting for up to two minutes and then turn off. Squeeze the trigger on the spray gun to release any trapped pressure and disconnect all hoses and attachments and let them dry thoroughly.
Many pressure washer providers recommend using windshield wash to keep a unit’s coils and plumbing system from freezing. This tactic is inappropriate for pressure washers and other pieces of equipment with carbon steel coils. Windshield wash has a mixture of about 32% Methanol which attacks carbon steel and when heated can increase the damaging effects it has on carbon steel.
Instead, we recommend using Mi-T-M pump saver solution to winterize your pressure washer. The pump saver solution provides longer pump life, prevents build-up of hard water mineral deposits, preserves seals and pistons and protects against freezing. It’s fast and easy. First disconnect all hoses and the spray gun wand and assembly and drain as much water as possible from them.
On a gas-powered pressure washer, attach the pump saver solution bottle directly to the water inlet and turn the knob on the bottle to the open position. Then pull the recoil until the liquid coming out of the discharge is 100% solution.
On an electric powered pressure washer, attach the pump saver solution, like a gas unit, directly to the water inlet and turn the knob to the open position. Once the bottle is in place, squeeze the bottle while turning the pressure washer on until the liquid coming out is 100% solution.
After you have completed all of these steps your pressure washer is ready to be stored safely for winter.
Advantages of a Hot Water Pressure Washer
Some Like It Hot: Hot Water Pressure Washers
Grime, muck, grunge and grease – all tough to remove from surfaces.
When you want to sanitize an area, do you use hot or cold water? What about scrubbing dirty dishes? When trying to remove stains from clothing, do you select a hot or cold rinse? No doubt you answered hot to all three questions. When you have greasy stained surfaces, a heat setting makes sense for dishwashers, washing machines and other household appliances. The same is true for pressure washers.
Hot water is proven to be more effective at removing stains than cold water. Why? The hotter the temperature, the lower the surface tension of water. Hot water contains fast-moving particles. This means the molecules spread apart, making it easier to expand and then loosen a stain. In addition, hot water can cut through grease quickly and effectively kill bacteria and microorganisms.

His business acumen emerged quickly during his time at Nabors Drilling which is a publicly-traded company that owns and operates the nation’s largest land-based drilling rig fleet.
The proprietary formulation of Miracle Blue™ MG was developed out of the need for a heavy-duty degreaser utilized in oilfield applications.
MG Cleaners offers rig and equipment washing services because clean equipment simply lasts longer, operates more efficiently, and costs less to maintain. MG Cleaners provides quick service, so there’s minimal effect on the customers’ operation. Whether its a safety cleaning before rigs are moved, cleaning debris away before an inspection or audit, or any situation that requires a thorough cleaning, MG Cleaners provides high-quality service to each customer.
In early June 2018 SMG, MG Cleaners’ parent company announced the opening of a new location in Alice, Texas. Stephen says, “The addition of this new facility in South Texas will provide logistical efficiencies along with the expansion of our in-basin footprint in the Eagle Ford, where it is anticipated that drilling operations will significantly increase as oil prices inch higher. After receiving multiple requests for our products and service work from customers who have recently moved to South Texas, our work staff is now in place and is expected to be fully productive within the next several weeks.”
As MG Cleaners continues to grow, they’re also expecting to strengthen their relationships with their top suppliers. A partnership with Mi-T-M has undoubtedly contributed to the successes of MG Cleaners, and each looks forward to continued prosperity for years to come.

Water Treatment Systems – No Two Installations Are Alike.
Mi-T-M has been in the Water Treatment business since 1998. Over the years, we’ve had a great deal of success in a variety of different water treatment industries including rental, implement dealers, golf courses, wineries, breweries and municipalities. Each industry has their own, unique challenges when it comes to water treatment systems and no two installations are alike.
To select the best treatment solution for your business, you will need to determine how much water you wish to treat in a 24-hour period, what substances you need to remove from the wastewater, and whether you’ll be recycling or discharging that wastewater. The following are three types of water treatment systems we sell at Mi-T-M:
- Biological (BIO) Treatment Series: used as a discharge or closed loop system. Using this series, microbes consume organic waste in your wastewater and produce carbon dioxide and clean water.
- Water/Oil Separator (WOS and WCL) Series: this system employs oil to attract media. When the separated oil floats to the surface, an oil skimmer sends the oil to a decanter for easy removal.
- Wash Water Recycle Systems (WLP and WCP) Series: this series is designed to remove free hydrocarbons and filter water to be sent back through a pressure washer.
As our technology evolved, the Mi-T-M Biological Reclaim Systems became one of our most requested products because of its versatility and simplicity. A Biological system is designed to consume contaminants that other systems may only isolate from wastewater. Mi-T-M’s Bio Series harnesses the power of these genetically engineered bacteria through a unique process that is chemical free and environmentally safe. “It’s a simple, effective way to filter out waste, and create clean, reusable water,” says Aaron Auger, Mi-T-M Water Treatment Division Manager. “It’s what we call, ‘The Process of Elimination’.”
Grease, oil, hydrocarbons and other naturally occurring substances are a food source for millions of microbes that colonize within a Mi-T-M Biological system. As wastewater drains underground, it’s pumped to a bio-reaction tank. In the tank, the untreated wastewater flows through separate chambers, home to colonies of hungry microbes. The stream of water changes direction countless times for maximum microbe contact. The microbes “treat” the water by consuming any organic materials in the water, including oil and grease. The microbes live for this consumption, and the Mi-T-M system provides the three basic elements they need to survive: food, environment, and oxygen.
Once the microbes have done their work, a pressurized tank delivers the biologically treated water for reuse.
The WOS and WCL Series recycle systems are designed to discharge equipment and vehicle wash-water to sanitary sewers. The oil/water/solids separators will reduce the amount of suspended solids while removing hydrocarbons to meet local sanitary sewer discharge requirements. Note to always check local discharge regulations and limits.
The WLP and WCP Series recycle systems are designed to remove free hydrocarbons and filter the water to be sent back through a pressure washer. Once equipment is washed, the untreated wash-water flows into your pit system. A proper pit system for your application is essential in proper wash-water treatment, and a critical element in any wash-water recycle system. The systems come standard with pH and ORP injection and all systems are designed for corrosion-resistance by using stainless-steel tanks.
We also offer numerous water treatment system accessories that make it easier for you to customize your wastewater cleaning process. Some of these items include filters, pumps, valves and consumables. Mi-T-M sells a huge assortment of solutions.
There are lots of terms, chemical reactions and other things to know about the wastewater treatment process. Rely on Mi-T-M to provide the tools and equipment you need to treat your water properly and effectively.
We hope you’ve learned a little more about the water treatment process. We look forward to working with you to customize the ideal wastewater treatment system. Contact Mi-T-M today or connect with one of our trusted dealers to learn more.
Storm Preparedness – Portable Generators and Wattage for Appliances
Portable Generators and Proper Wattage for Different Appliances
Snow. Wind. Ice. Electrical storms. All these elements can wipe out your home’s power for hours or even days. Are you prepared? Don’t be left in the dark. Let Mi-T-M help you prepare for the unexpected.
Electricity is a commodity most Americans take for granted. But when winter ice storms and spring thunder and lightning storms knock out power, many go into full panic mode.
If your electricity goes out, questions begin running through your mind: How long will our food last in the refrigerator? How will we stay warm? Where can we hear the news? What if our basement floods? Where can we charge our appliances? How will we cook our meals? Is the water safe to drink? How can we open our automatic garage doors?
Unfortunately, we can’t control the weather, but we can help you plan ahead and prepare for emergencies. Mi-T-M sells a large array of generators that help in tough situations. For homes, our unique inverters are equipped with CO detection and designed with inverter technology for reduced size, weight, noise and fuel consumption.
Our generators come in many sizes—ranging from 2,000 to 14,000-watts—and types, including portable generators for residential use and commercial models. These rugged machines provide safe, reliable and quiet backup for all your electrical needs.
Different appliances require different levels of wattage as the below graphic shows.
How large of a generator should you buy?
Think about your electrical needs during a power outage.
- What can’t you live without?
- Calculate the total wattage of all the appliances you wish to use—wattage can be located on each unit’s nameplate or found through on the manufacturer’s website—then multiply that number by three.
The total will tell you what size generator you need.
Our smaller inverter and generator units can easily power lights, phone chargers and appliances like a radio. Larger generator units, can keep your refrigerator running or allow you to watch TV during power outages.
Portable Generator Safety
For your safety—and to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning—all portable generators should be used outdoors or in well-ventilated areas only. Do not run a generator in your home, garage, crawl space, attic, basement or any other enclosed area. Instead, place your portable generator outside.
Contact Mi-T-M or one of our dealers, today. We’ll discuss the best power solutions for all your needs.

Should You Buy or Rent A Pressure Washer?
Buying a Pressure Washer vs. Renting a Pressure Washer
From fences to decks, siding to lawn furniture, cars to garage floors; the places and things you can clean with a pressure washer are seemingly endless. So does it make more sense to rent or buy a pressure washer?
If you only use a pressure washer once or twice a year, it may make more financial sense to rent a pressure washer or you may want to hire someone with their own machine to clean your home and items.
Benefits of renting a pressure washer include:
- No Storage Hassle
- No Equipment Maintenance
- Save Money – will be less expensive to rent if you are only planning occasional use.
- Conserve Water – pressure washers actually use less water than using a garden hose.
- Restore & Preserve exterior surfaces by removing damaging agents, such as dirt, salt, grease and mold.
If you’re a weekend warrior and wash your house, patio, deck and outdoor furniture several times each year, you may want to purchase a sturdy and reliable washer. Mi-T-M offers a huge variety of residential pressure washers, available with an electric motor or gas engine, and ranging from 1400 PSI to 3000 PSI.
Make sure you compare like models when deciding to buy or rent a pressure washer. Once you know which motor and type of washer best fits your needs, you can calculate the hourly cost of renting vs. buying. Renting a pressure washer may cost $50-$150 dollars per day. Buying a pressure washer, depending on the model and motor, runs $300 and up. Therefore, 2-3 rentals may be the same price as buying new.
When you rent a pressure washer, you don’t have to maintain the machine. However, you may have to pay for rental insurance. When you buy a pressure washer, you’ll need to pay for your own repairs, but you’ll own the machine outright. With proper maintenance you’ll have it for many years.
Availability is another factor. If you own your own washer, you can use it whenever and wherever you need it. However, if you wish to rent, know that there are some seasons and times of year when washers are in high demand. Renting during those times may be more difficult or may cost more.
The experts at Mi-T-M can answer all your pressure washer questions. We’ve been in business for more than 50 years and our promise is to deliver unmatched performance—from the quality of our products to the dedication of each employee who does what’s right for our customer every time.

Hot Water Pressure Washer vs. Cold Water: Which is Right for You?
Hot Water Pressure Washer Vs. Cold Water: Which is Right for You?
When considering the purchase of a pressure washer, many people wonder if they should purchase a cold water or hot water pressure washer. A hot water pressure washer is a big investment, so if you are planning to purchase a pressure washer for your home to clean siding, decks, patio furniture and small equipment around your property, a cold water pressure washer will be your best choice.
Mi-T-M cold-water pressure washers are used for removing dirt, grime and mud from many surfaces and are great tools for striping paint. Mi-T-M manufactures dozens of different series of cold water pressure washers, offering the size and cleaning power for whatever your specific needs are.
The spraying power of a cold water pressure washer makes quick work of muddy messes and will easily sweep away debris and remove dirt from driveways, dog kennels, cars, boats, RV’s and many other surfaces. Plus, Mi-T-M cold water pressure washers are low maintenance, easy to operate and generally cost less than a hot water machine.
However, if you need a pressure washer for cleaning big equipment or have a large property that will benefit from the extra cleaning power, then you should definitely consider a hot water pressure washer.
Mi-T-M hot-water pressure washers are ideal for cleaning and dissolving oil and grease. They are often used in the sanitation and food and beverage industries where hot water is needed to thoroughly clean and sanitize. Hot water pressure washers give you that extra cleaning boost.
Mi-T-M manufactures a variety of hot water pressure washers. Customers have many power options to choose from including gas, electric or diesel. Mi-T-M offers both portable and stationary and depending on how often it will be used, the choice between a belt and direct drive pump should be considered.
Some of the questions you should ask yourself before making a purchasing decision are:
- What are my primary cleaning needs?
- How often do I plan to use the pressure washer?
- How much pressure do I need?
- What is my budget?

Use a sudsy detergent for added cleaning power and to freshen up the interior. Finish with a steady stream of water and then flip the canisters and bins upside down to let them dry.
Pool and Ponds
You have such fond memories of the summer months spent in your pool and watching tree frogs jump into your garden pond. Make sure you’ll continue those memories next season by taking proper care of those spaces now. Drain the water to pressure wash away dirt, algae and debris.
Yard Equipment and Tools
To preserve your tools, we recommend pressure washing them before storing them for winter. Line up your lawn mower, chain saw, rakes, leaf blower, edger, broom or any other outdoor tools. Pressure wash away all the dirt, grass and gunk from the summer months. Dry each piece and your equipment is ready to store for winter.
Prep Your Pressure Washer for Hibernation
Now that you’ve prepared your home and equipment for winter, your pressure washer needs a cleaning before being winterized too. For any gas model, drain all the liquid, attach a pump saver to the water inlet, start the motor and make sure all the discharged liquid is pure solution. For any electric model, simply squeeze the solution to flush out the system. Now you can safely store your machine in the garage, shed or shop until spring.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our Mi-T-M Pressure Washing Fall Cleaning Check List. Remember, you can easily locate a Mi-T-M dealer to purchase a pressure washer and ask them for additional tips and suggestions.
Remember – always take the proper safety precautions before beginning any pressure washing project.
Mi-T-M’s Guide For Winterizing Your Home
Winterize Your Home
As the summer sun fades into memory, we welcome the cool, fresh temperatures of autumn. Fall is a time to prepare for the frigid months ahead. September and October are the ideal time to winterize and protect your home and belongings. At Mi-T-M we offer a wide variety of solutions to prepare your property for winter. You have a lot of choices when it comes to our huge selection of gasoline and electric pressure washers. We also offer countless accessories—including extension hoses, detergents, nozzles, and brushes—to give you additional cleaning power for specific jobs.
Yes, summer is over, but you still have some beautiful fall days left to get ready for winter. As the leaves start to swirl and crunch beneath your feet, here are 13 fall cleaning projects we recommend at Mi-T-M. Remember to take the proper safety precautions before beginning any project.
Exfoliate Your Exterior
While the weather is still nice, take a stroll around your home. Check the exterior to see if there are any areas that have dirt, moss, or mold. Now is the perfect time to tame those spots before the first snow sends you indoors. A Mi-T-M pressure washer will easily remove stains and plant growth, from brick or vinyl siding. Check out our Ultimate Guide to Pressure Washers for advice on cleaning specific types of home exteriors.
Primed for Painting
Check for peeling paint on exterior surfaces. Our Mi-T-M pressure washers are a great way to blast away old paint. After you’ve carefully followed these easy “How-To Strip Paint” steps, let the surface properly dry, prep the area, and you’re ready to paint your home before winter. Fall is a wonderful time to paint the exterior of your home. Like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, it’s not too hot, it’s not too cold, it’s just right. Check with an experienced paint retailer about the best methods for painting wood and siding.
Get Your Mind (or Leaves) Out of the Gutter
Gutters are an important part of your home’s structural integrity. They redirect water away from your roof and walls. However, they can easily get clogged with leaves, insects, sticks, and other debris. A Mi-T-M pressure washer fitted with a gutter cleaner accessory will make short work of dirty gutters. Forget ladders or climbing on the roof. At Mi-T-M, we make your safety a priority. Using this wonderful attachment, you can blast away dirt and grime while standing on the ground. Cleaning your gutters now will help prevent ice dams from forming during the winter.
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
Most people know you can pressure wash your car or motorcycle. But did you realize you can also clean your RV, boat, jet ski, snowmobile, and other vehicles? It’s true. Because of potential paint damage, be sure to use the gentlest cleansers and the proper nozzle. You want to gently clean your vehicles, not strip them of paint, decals, or trim. Talk to your authorized Mi-T-M dealer or talk to our support center about the best model for your specific machinery.
Make Way for Santa
Just as your gutters need cleaning, so too does your fireplace. Before you pile on the logs for a toasty winter fire, make sure your fireplace is clean as a whistle. Our Mi-T-M wet/dry vacuums are an easy and convenient way to get rid of ashes. Choose from 9, 13, and 18-gallon models. You’ll appreciate the power and quiet operation of these vacuums as well as our lifetime canister warranty. But there is some maintenance you shouldn’t attempt; repairs best left to the experts. The Chimney Safety Institute of America recommends you have your chimney inspected once each year to check for structural soundness and obstructions.
Signed, Sealed, and Delivered
Winter ice and snow can wreak havoc with your driveway. Water from sleet or snow can seep below the surface of your concrete and then freeze and expand. The result can range from minor cracks to major foundation damage. So play offense. Start by getting rid of any paint, oil, or gas stains. Before snow hits, clean your driveway with a pressure washer. We recommend adding a rotating nozzle to add extra kick to your work. You may also wish to use a surface cleaner. Once the surface is dry, roll or spray on the appropriate sealant. Use asphalt or acrylic sealers for asphalt. For concrete, we recommend acrylic and siloxane sealants.
All Hands On Deck
Remember when your fence or your deck was new? The wood looked so fresh and beautiful. But time can be unkind. And harsh weather conditions can begin to destroy any wood surface. Mold, mildew, moss, dirt and grime are just a few of the culprits for this type of mess. Using a Mi-T-M pressure washer, you can restore your fence, gate, outdoor furniture, or deck to their former glory. Your authorized dealer will help you choose the proper model, detergent, and attachments for your project. Just for fun? Take a before and after picture of the wood surface. You’ll be amazed by the difference.
Garbage In; Garbage Out
Have you ever looked inside your trash cans and recycle bins? Pretty disgusting, right? Pressure wash away all the dirt and detritus in one fell swoop. Simply lay your cans on their side and place them up against something solid . . . or they’ll blow away with the force of the spray. Use a sudsy wash to soften the interior. Then finish with a steady stream of water from your pressure washer. Turn the canisters and cans upside down and let them dry in the sun. That was easy, wasn’t it?
Your Cleaning Will Go Swimmingly
You have such fond memories of the summer months spent in your pool. Make sure you’ll have more memories next season by taking proper care of the space now. Drain all the water and get ready to pressure wash away the dirt and debris. Sure you can use brushes and other tools instead. But why would you? Save time and stress by using a powerful pressure washer to clean and winterize your in ground pool.
Prepare for Winter Emergencies
During harsh winters, a generator makes sense for many homeowners. Mi-T-M manufactures many different types and sizes of generators for all your needs. If you are considering a generator purchase, now is the time. If the power goes out, what are your immediate needs? Perhaps you’ll want to keep the heat going? Maybe you need the lights? Or perhaps you want to be sure your food doesn’t spoil? Determining how you’ll use your generator will help you select the right size.
A Sprinkling of Advice
Your sprinkler system worked hard for you all spring and summer, keeping your grass watered and green. Now it’s time for you to take care of the system. Before freezing temperature arrive, make sure you blow out all the water from the pipes. A Mi-T-M air compressor is the ideal way to do this. Be sure to protect your pipes before winter beats you to the punch.
Spray and Shine Before Storing
As a homeowner, chances are you have a lot of yard equipment. To preserve your tools, we recommend pressure washing them before storing them for the winter. Look around; most any type of lawn accessory can benefit from a pressure wash. Line up your lawn mower, chain saw, rakes, leaf blower, tree trimmer, edger, broom, or other outdoor tools. Select the proper amount of wand pressure and pressure wash away all the gunk from the summer months. Dry each piece and store your equipment for the winter.
Prep Your Pressure Washer for Hibernation
Now that you’ve prepared your home and equipment for winter, don’t forget to winterize your pressure washer. For your gas model, drain all the liquid, attach a pump saver to the water inlet, start the motor, and make sure all the discharged liquid is pure solution. For an electric model, simply squeeze the solution to flush out the system. Now you can safely store your machine in the garage or shed until spring.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our Mi-T-M Fall preparation and cleaning guide. You can easily locate a M-T-M dealer and ask them for their tips and suggestions. Whether you buy or rent our equipment, we know you’ll appreciate our rugged and high-quality products. We wish you a very safe and happy winter.

What kind of portable generator do I need for my RV?
What kind of portable generator do I need for my RV?
About 10 percent of American households over the age of 55 own a recreational vehicle (RV). However, some use motorhomes and campers for occasional travel and special events while some call their RVs home. As a result, the number of fulltime RVers in the United States is about one million, according to RVing Guide. When you own an RV, you can travel almost anywhere, anytime, set your own agenda and let the open road guide you. But there’s one important thing every traveler needs and that’s a portable generator! A portable generator is ideal for charging and powering equipment and devices while traveling, as well as during recreational activities.
Camping is one of the most popular activities in the United States. More than 7 million new U.S. households have adopted the camping lifestyle since 2014. Whether you drive a grand Class A motorhome, steer a mid-sized Class C or tow a travel trailer behind you, you’ll need a reliable power source for all of your essential accessories, equipment and devices.
Let’s Generate Some Power
Buying a portable generator is well worth the initial investment. You’ll soon wonder how you ever lived without one. However, before you purchase a generator, make sure to select a model that fits your power needs.
When it comes to generators, size does matter. Make sure you get the right amount of power for the right price. Here’s a math equation you’ll want to consider: Amps x Volts = Watts.
Before considering your generator options, take a look around your RV. What accessories, equipment and devices will you need power to operate? A coffee maker, a TV, a laptop, an air conditioner? Will you need to charge or run any of these at the same time? To determine what size generator you will need, add up the total watts of all the items for which you’ll need power and select a generator model that can easily handle your anticipated needs. At Mi-T-M, we’ll be glad to help you make these calculations.
How Can Mi-T-M Help?
Mi-T-M offers an array of generators including 2000 up to 8000-watt inverter generators equipped with CO detection and auto shutdown. Opposed to a standard generator, their inverter technology allows for reduced weight, noise and fuel consumption. These inverters are quiet, yet powerful and take portability to the next level.
Our inverter generators are ideal for charging and powering equipment and devices while traveling, as well as during recreational activities.
You’ll appreciate many special features of our inverters, including:
• Insulated side panels that reduce noise
• Recoil start (electric start on 4000 and 8000-watt models)
• Low-oil shutdown
• USB port for electronics
• Handles and wheels for portability (4000 and 8000-watt models)
• Commercial quality AC power for sensitive electronics
Mi-T-M knows the advantages of owning a portable generator and we’re happy to help you choose a generator and generator accessories, including our RV generator adapter, that are right for your needs.

Storm Preparedness – Tips & Tools To Keep You Safe
Plan. Backup Plan. Backup-Backup Plan.
Planning and preparing are the best ways to get ahead of severe weather season. Knowing what to do in the event of a storm emergency caused by a tornado, hurricane, tsunami, flash-flooding, mud-slide, earthquake and anything in-between can mean the difference between life, death, or severe injury.
Here are some things to consider, depending on the type of severe weather you experience:
- Have a list of items to gather quickly, such as survival gear, food, water, medicine, and pet supplies to take to your family’s shelter or take with you during an evacuation
- Have a planned meeting location if you get separated
- Plan for short power outages by having battery operated devices ready to go, such as flashlights and cell phones
- Have a battery-operated radio to get updated weather information
- Discuss the plan with all of your family members
The spring and summer storm seasons are always unpredictable, so start these preparations soon. Check out the following tips and get ready for whatever Mother Nature throws at you!
Portable Generators and Proper Wattage for Different Appliances
Your electricity just got knocked out by a storm. How long will you be in the dark? The freezer, TV, sump-pump, and all other major appliances have stopped working. Your food may thaw, your basement may flood, and your phone may lose power. What are you going to do? Purchase a Mi-T-M portable generator and never worry about power again!
When it comes to electricity, nothing is more truthful than the saying “you don’t know what you have until it’s gone.” We can’t control the weather, but we can help you plan ahead and prepare for emergencies. Mi-T-M sells a large array of equipment that helps homeowners stay safe during storms and power outages. How? Our generators convert mechanical energy into electricity. Our unique inverters are designed with inverter technology for reduced size, weight, noise, and fuel consumption.
Our generators come in many sizes—from 2,000 watts to 14,000 watts— including portable generators for residential use and commercial models. These rugged machines provide safe and reliable backup for your home electrical needs. Different appliances require different levels of wattage as this graphic shows.
Do You Rely on At-Home Medical Equipment?
When you or a loved one rely on electricity for assistive technology and medical devices, a power outage is more than an inconvenience. It can be life-threatening. First, always keep your medical devices in good working order and charged up, if possible. Second, find out if the devices can be connected to a generator or an inverter without being harmed. And last, contact your local electric utility and EMS provider, and alert them that there is a medical device in your home that needs electricity. When they know someone dependent on electricity for medical devices is in the area, they will attempt to restore power there faster.
However, storms aren’t the only things that cause power failures. A Mi-T-M portable generator or inverter is a worthwhile investment when you or a loved one is dependent on electric medical devices.
Keep Your Business Open During a Power Outage
If you’re a small business owner, a Mi-T-M portable generator could keep your doors open during a power outage. If your inventory includes perishables, a generator is truly a necessity. Contact Mi-T-M or one of our dealers to find out exactly what type of generator will keep you in business during a power outage.
Is Bigger Better?
Think about your electrical needs during a power outage.
- What are your “electric essentials?”
- Calculate the total wattage of all the appliances you wish to use—wattage can be located on each unit’s nameplate or found on the manufacturer’s website—then multiply that number by three.
The total will tell you what size generator you need.
You’ll need to put serious thought into what the conditions will be like when you lose power, which will help you determine your final purchase. Will the generator be a short-term solution for outages caused by lightning or a long-term solution for power-grid damage caused by earthquakes? Will it power your entire home or just a few devices? Our smallest units can easily power lights, your phone charger, and/or appliances like your radio. Larger generator units, for example, can keep your refrigerator and sump pump running while allowing you to watch TV to get crucial news. Regardless of size, Mi-T-M’s portable generators and inverter units provide the power you need and the peace of mind you desire.
After the Storm
Storm debris clean-up can be a big job but first, be sure to document all the storm damage before you start the clean-up process. Unfortunately, if you need to use a chainsaw, the sawdust mess is almost worse. Use a Mi-T-M pressure washer appropriately around your home or business to quickly remove sawdust, leaves and small branches from sidewalks, driveways, and vehicles. Whether the job requires hot-water washing, cold-water washing, high or low pressure, a powerful gas engine or a quiet, electric engine, Mi-T-M has the right pressure washer for you.
While quickly removing unwanted water, a portable Mi-T-M water pump can also pump out storm debris and waste, depending on the model and size. They’re gasoline powered, so you can start clean-up without electricity. There’s no need to set up a bucket brigade to get flood water out of your home or business-just use a dependable and compact Mi-T-M water pump.
Contact Mi-T-M or one of our dealers today. We’ll discuss the best power solutions for all your needs. Click here for more information about how to prepare for power outages.

It’s always nice to see people give back and support their community!”
Dealer Spotlight – TNT’s Disinfectant Mister Success
TNT Sales and Service of Hinton, Iowa has enjoyed a lot of success with the new Mi-T-M pressure washer mister combination unit.
To date they have sold over 250 units. Initially TNT sold misters to parks and small towns who wanted to get their outdoor venues opened. Now they are selling to a wide range of customers including churches, schools, gyms, ambulance services and emergency management.
Tom Crawford, of TNT tells us that he sells the mister combination in two configurations, on a skid to be mounted on a gator and on a Rubbermaid utility cart. “We added a hose reel to both and a gun-hose swivel to make it easy for the customer.” The feedback he’s gotten from his customers is very positive.
The team at TNT created their own video early on to show people how to use it and promoted it on their website and Facebook page, but according to Tom, “word of mouth” has been the best marketing tool so far.

Exfoliate Your Exterior
Does the exterior of your home may look a little rough after the harsh months of winter? All the snow and ice that your home accumulated over the winter months may cause excessive buildup that can cause mold problems and damage your home. So, this is the perfect time to deep clean those areas and get your home looking as good as new. With our Mi-T-M pressure washers, you will be able to easily remove stains and film on brick or vinyl siding. Check out our Ultimate Guide to Pressure Washers for advice on cleaning specific types of home exteriors.
Let’s be honest, concrete walkways and driveways are expected to get dirty, muddy and grimy. However, many people don’t realize how much buildup actually accumulates over time, especially after the winter months. Pressure washing your driveway or walkway can remove all of that buildup that collected over the months, preserving the concrete and decreasing the chance of cracks and foundation damages.
For pressure washing, we recommend using a rotating nozzle to add an extra kick to your work. Using a surface cleaner will speed up your cleaning time. Once the surface is dry, roll or spray on the appropriate sealant. Use asphalt or acrylic sealers for asphalt. For concrete, we recommend acrylic and siloxane sealants.
All Hands On Deck
Spring is finally here; it’s time to pull out the patio furniture and get that grill up and running. But wait, take a good, hard look at your deck and observe any damages that might have occurred during the winter months. Winter can seriously harm the surface of the wood with mold, mildew, moss, dirt and even grime buildup.
With a Mi-T-M pressure washer, you can restore your deck, gate, outdoor furniture, or even your fence to their former glory. So, talk to your authorized dealer today about which model, detergent, and attachments you should choose for your project. You’re going to be amazed by the difference.
Just Keep Swimming
After a brutally cold winter, nothing sounds more delightful than a dip in the pool on a 90-degree day. Lucky for you, those days are right around the corner. However, before you dive in, make sure your pool is ready.
Cleaning your pool with a Mi-T-M pressure washer will have your pool back to paradise in no time, but there are a few steps you need to take first before you get there. For starters, make sure you drain all of the water out of the pool. You can’t really pressure wash underwater, can you? Then, sweep up any debris that is stuck on the bottom and then pressure wash away any dirt that’s left. Make sure you use one of our detergents to get a real deep clean before you begin to fill it back up.
How’s My Yard Look?
After a long winter, your lawn equipment has probably collected a good amount of dust and grime from sitting in one place. Your lawnmower, chainsaw, rakes, shovels, leaf blower, tree trimmer, and other outdoor equipment are all essential to getting your yard ready for spring. But you can’t use dirty tools.
And what about your grill? All of the food splatters that collected have been just sitting on it all winter. That first look at your dirty grill will be heartbreaking after dreaming about sunny days where you can use it.
No worries, our pressure washers are a quick and easy fix to have your equipment looking like new again. All you have to do is select the proper amount of wand pressure and pressure wash away all the gunk that has accumulated from being stored all winter. Then, dry each piece and your equipment will be ready to go. If you do not already have a Mi-T-M pressure washer, talk to an authorized dealer about which model you should choose for your equipment.
Time To Park The Car
During the winter, your car comes into contact with a lot of salt, snow, sand, slush, dirt, and ice that can get stuck underneath your car. Then all of that gunk ends up in your garage, where it then melts onto the floor. This filth can create huge messes during the winter since you have nowhere else to really store your vehicle. That is why a deep pressure washing cleaning is essential after winter.
Not only does pressure washing keep your garage clean, but it also improves safety, adds value to your property, and prevents any damages to the structure. With your vehicle constantly traveling in and out, your garage does not really get a break. That is why we highly suggest talking to an authorized dealer about a Mi-T-M pressure washer that will have your garage looking good as new.
Spring cleaning is an important step in transitioning your home from winter to summer. Not only does it make your home look nice, but it will help keep your home from experiencing any future damages and will increase the value of the property. Using a pressure washer is an easy solution, so why not reap the benefits?
If you are interested in getting a pressure washer, you can easily locate a M-T-M dealer and ask them for their tips and suggestions. Whether you buy or rent our equipment, we know you’ll appreciate our rugged and high-quality products. Happy spring cleaning!
In The Spotlight – Chamberlain and Company Custom Painting LLC
After a decade working in the custom painting and pressure washing industry, Matthew Chamberlain started his own company Chamberlain and Company Custom Painting LLC in 2009.
Chamberlain is a staunch believer in pressure washing as a necessary first step in exterior painting, and his company prides itself on using the best quality products and equipment in their business.
He started using Mi-T-M equipment in 2015 and currently has two Mi-T-M pressure washers, a Mi-T-M propane heater, and a Mi-T-M rotary surface cleaner.
“Mi-T-M equipment is so easy to use, from start up to shut down,” says Chamberlain. “The quick connect accessories and attachments are effortless. Being introduced to the rotary surface cleaner was a game-changer. It cuts down on wash time and labor tremendously. If there is an use or need, Mi-T-M has a solution.”
Chamberlain and Company Custom Painting purchases all of their Mi-T-M equipment through their local Sherwin-Williams store. The one time they needed to call Mi-T-M customer service, Chamberlain was impressed with the attention and fast support, “It’s obvious that contractors are important to Mi-T-M.”
Chamberlain recommends to anyone using a pressure washer to, “Always do research on the substrate to be cleaned and the chemicals you plan to use.”

How To Bid Pressure Cleaning A Stadium
Bidding Stadium Clean Up – Mi-T-M
Stadiums, arenas, and sports venues are some of the most challenging jobs to bid due to their sheer size and complexity. Many cleaning businesses lose money on these types of jobs because of underbidding, which is easy to do unless you take every last detail into account.
Here are a few things to keep in mind while putting together your bid.
The sheer size of a venue may be intimidating for many pressure washing businesses, but the most important aspect of bidding out a cleaning job is to ensure you have the right equipment. Making sure you’re able to reach every surface that needs cleaning will determine the amount of time and energy you’ll need to dedicate to the project.
Do you need a special lift or scaffolding to reach the underside of stadium seating? Not having the proper equipment could greatly hinder your ability to do the job thoroughly and efficiently.
Plan ahead and know if there are any areas that require prep-work prior to cleaning. Is there debris or other venue belongings that could obstruct your people or equipment? Be sure to know the area well enough to foresee any obstacles you may run into.
- Create Cleaning Zones:
If there are multiple areas to be cleaned within the same venue, it is generally wise to divide and conquer. By dividing a venue into zones, you’re taking the first step in prioritizing your jobs tasks. There may be zones you place a higher priority on because they’re literally higher in elevation, and the flow of soiled water determines that they be cleaned in a descending order. There may be other times where the venue’s operations depend on you cleaning specified zones first, then moving on to zones that don’t inhibit their preparations such as a concession stand. You may not realize it but accounting for this prioritization means taking into consideration the movement of people and equipment which could take extra time.
Cleaning after an event can be much more time consuming when there was high attendance. Even if you’re not responsible for trash removal, there may still be a significant quantity of spills, stains, and crumbs to wash away. Knowing the approximate attendance of an event will allow you to adjust your bid because smaller crowds generally require less cleanup and vice versa.
- Chemical Limitations:
Consider any potential limitations you may have as it relates to chemicals or equipment. Regardless the reason for the limitation you’ll need to know if you’re able to offer an alternative solution and if it will add any time to your bid.
There are other factors that can be taken into consideration when bidding a stadium, but the items outlined above are often overlooked by even the best businesses. Mi-T-M Dealers are experts when it comes to equipment & applications. Reach out to the Mi-T-M dealer nearest you for any additional advice you may need when bidding out such a large project.
Maintaining The Indianapolis Motor Speedway: The Tale Of Quipco Sales.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a 2 1/2 mile stretch of road that has led many drivers to greatness. There are many unique things about this place, an obvious one being the prestigious Indy 500. Although many events around race day are well documented, many don’t consider the extensive work that takes place before, during, and after. We’d like to give you an insider’s look at what it takes to keep the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in pristine condition for drivers and spectators alike.
As a young boy Daniel Porterfield would ride his bike to the track so he could witness all the action happening on race day. Years later he took over the company his parents founded Quipco Sales and began selling Mi-T-M power washing equipment; because of the contacts he made when visiting the track, Daniel was able to establish the Indianapolis Motor Speedway maintenance crew as his clients. This relationship continued to grow over the years, and in 2016 proved to be fruitful for both sides. Internal factors lead to a track management vacancy at IMS, and Daniel was notified immediately once the contract became available. A relationship that began over 25 years ago resulted in Daniel earning a contract to power wash the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which is a testament to properly serving clients.
From April 1st to May 25th, Daniel put in 12 hour days of power washing with Mi-T-M equipment before and after each race. One can imagine the amount of cement, concrete, asphalt, composite, and black concrete that’s washed at a racetrack, but picture doing it all by hand. Walking the track with 5,000-gallon water trucks, and spraying it from the top of the bank to the infield seemed to be a never-ending task. As all innovative business owners do, Daniel is currently developing a customized 96-inch truck mounted sprayer to make his operation more efficient the next time around. An improvement such as this could cut his man-hours substantially, and ensure he produces an even better result.
Aside from cleaning the racetrack areas, Daniel is responsible for the washing and sanitizing seating, amenities, and other highly traveled areas. The 250,000 bleacher seats at IMS were cleaned throughout the racing season as well as restrooms, concessions, and concourse areas.
Quipco Sales was founded on the principals of professionalism, trustworthiness, and service, three elements that help to continually strengthen customer relationships. One piece of advice Daniel has for other contractors is, “if possible, always communicate with others on the jobsite. You never know where you’ll make a friend or gain a customer – which are the same thing in my book.”
We love to hear great stories like this from our dealer network and those using our machines to do great work. If you have a story to share with us, please contact us on Facebook.

Hire Date: June 14, 1976
What was your first position at Mi-T-M?
Secretary – It included secretarial, receptionist, bookkeeping, purchasing, anything related to office work. When I was hired it was just AJ, I and one other guy (Jerry Brimeyer) in the office and there were just a couple guys in the shop.
What is your current position at Mi-T-M?
Sales Administration Manager
Is there one memorable moment or outstanding memory from Mi-T-M that you’ll always remember?
One would be AJ calling from the road and asking “Where am I?” because he was travelling so much. Another memorable time is when we starting making terrific sales. When I was first here, there were months when we were lucky to sell a couple units. It was such a shock when we started having single days when the sales equaled annual sales for some of our early years. I am still amazed at some of our sales days and where all that equipment goes.
What are you plans after retirement? Or what are you looking forward to doing once you retire?
The summer will be spent with the grandkids. We will spend quite a bit of time at our timber (especially my husband). Mostly I am looking forward to relaxing and not feeling rushed to get things done.
For people just starting at Mi-T-M, what would you say to them or tell them? (advice, tips, guidance, etc.)
Mi-T-M is a great place to work. You can tell by the number of employees who have been here for so many years. If you have any questions, there always is someone there to help you out.
Anything additional you’d like to mention?
While I am really looking forward to spending time with my husband and family, I am going to miss my Mi-T-M family terribly. When you have been together for as long as some of us have been, you develop a bonding relationship. I think some people here are aware that in December, it hit me hard that I was actually going to be leaving Mi-T-M and how much I will miss the day-to-day interaction with these special people. However, as retirement nears I am really looking forward to this new phase in my life.
Congratulations Chuck Kluesner
Hire Date: May 23, 1984
What was your first position at Mi-T-M?
I was hired as an assembler of hot water pressure washers. Mi-T-M had just started the production of these units. From production, I went to the parts department, then worked in shipping and receiving and now I’m just in shipping.
What is your current position at Mi-T-M?
Is there one memorable moment or outstanding memory from Mi-T-M that you’ll always remember? If so, what is it?
Desert Storm is something I’ll never forget. We worked 12-18 hours a day for 10 days to build those 2000 machines. On the last day we worked 25 1/2 hours straight and after, AJ made a toast to celebrate and then told us all to go home and get some sleep. Over all the whole experience of working at Mi-T-M is memorable; seeing the expansion of the company over the years; going from shipping nothing to now – it’s an astounding difference.
What are you plans after retirement? Or what are you looking forward to doing once you retire?
I’m looking forward to yardwork and gardening, fishing, spending time with the grandkids, relaxing and taking trips.
For people just starting at Mi-T-M, what would you say to them or tell them? (advice, tips, guidance, etc.)
Mi-T-M is a good company to work for.
Congratulations Tom Woerdehoff
Hire Date: August 1, 1988
What was your first position at Mi-T-M?
My first position was in sales.
What is your position at Mi-T-M?
I’ve been Credit Manager for 26 years.
Is there one memorable moment or outstanding memory from Mi-T-M that you’ll always remember? If so, what is it?
Actually there are a couple. In the early nineties AJ would strap on roller blades and do laps around the plant at the Kapp location. After production left you could find him out there in the low light having fun. It always brought a smile to my face. He should dust them off and go at it again. Another was whipping up a batch of homemade Irish Cream a couple days before Christmas and bringing some in to share. It became a tradition and I was pleased that I was able to add to the holiday spirit. And finally, all the people that have passed through this great company on their way to somewhere else. There have been many and most have left strong contributions and fond memories.
What are you plans after retirement? Or what are you looking forward to doing once you retire?
I prefer to not call it retirement but an opportunity to do other things. Too much to mention in this small space!
For people just starting at Mi-T-M, what would you say to them or tell them? (advice, tips, guidance, etc.)
Enjoy what you are doing and try to find a reason to laugh and share humor. Look up Donnie Holdridge; he is always good for a laugh. Do the best work possible. There were many who came before you who I’ve had the pleasure to know and who took pride in their work. They are the reason Mi-T-M is as great as it is. Build on that.
Anything additional you’d like to mention?
I do need to thank AJ, Sam and Tom Allendorf for the opportunity to work here and contribute all these years. I am very grateful. Best wishes to all the friends I have made throughout my time here. Many have been with me since the beginning and I cherish the memories. I look forward to keeping in touch – but maybe in the future that can be over a beer and a pool table.
Karen Steger -The “Voice” of Mi-T-M
In the spirit of Administrative Professional’s Day, we’d like to introduce you to one of the most recognizable voices of Mi-T-M. For 26 years, customers have been greeted by the warm and friendly voice of Karen Steger – a humble employee who refers to herself as, “just the receptionist.”
As a potential customer’s first point of contact, it’s crucial for Karen to provide the highest quality customer service possible. Karen is the voice of Mi-T M which means she is also the first person many customers speak with when they call. She is on the front lines of giving every customer the best experience possible, each and every time.
Karen has had the pleasure of meeting many loyal Mi-T-M dealers and customers face-to-face when they come to the Mi-T-M Headquarters. Meeting customers and dealers in person allows Karen to distinguish who is calling just by the sound of their voice. Mi-T-M always strives to make every customer feel like the #1 priority of their company and Karen makes sure that happens with each interaction.
Karen has made many great memories at Mi-T-M that she’ll be able to reflect on for years to come. From being featured on the company calendar twenty years ago to a recent trip to Mexico where she was able to strengthen relationships with Mi-T-M dealers.
Customers of Mi-T-M equipment stay with us because of amazing employees like Karen and the quality products we create.
Dealer Spotlight: Southern Environmental Equipment
Southern Environmental Equipment‘s history can be summed up in two words: passion and growth. The Florida based wash equipment dealer and servicer started from what many would consider humble beginnings. Prior to becoming the owner of Southern Environmental Equipment, Larry Shumate was a professional fishing guide on the Harris Chain of Lakes in Leesburg, FL. In 1992 a slump in the previously lucrative fishing industry caused Larry to hang up his pole, quit his career as a guide, and find what he describes as a “real job.”
Little did he know at the time, this would be a blessing in disguise. Shortly after quitting the guide service Larry’s journey to the wash industry began. He was introduced to Jim White, who at the time, was manager and owner of Southern Environmental Equipment. “I was hired on the spot at Southern Environmental Equipment and became a salesman.” Larry immediately sought to learn all he could about the business so he joined Southern Environmental’s service department. Larry explained, “I was immediately inspired by servicing equipment because it helped me see the many ways I could improve the design and function of each wash pad.”
A New Partnership Begins
In 2001, Larry decided to purchase Southern Environmental Equipment. Following the takeover, Larry was introduced to Mi-T-M and became an exclusive dealer of their water treatment systems and pressure washers for the entire state of Florida. Southern Environmental Equipment’s two-man team took full advantage of this opportunity and generated enough sales to add five new employees to the sales team.
Southern Environmental continues to work hard for each customer they serve whether they’re new or existing. They believe going the extra-mile means seamlessly working with other contractors while installing equipment at a job site, offering preventative maintenance plans, mobile repair truck service, and additional training for customers upon request. To ensure they can serve every customer’s needs Southern Environmental has also expanded their equipment offerings to the complete line of Mi-T-M products. This line includes air compressors, wet/dry vacuums, air compressor/generator combinations, job boxes, portable heaters, trailer units, portable generators, air compressor/generator/welder combination units, hot and cold water pressure washers, water pumps, and other outdoor equipment.
Larry’s contagious passion for the wash water business is abundantly clear at Southern Environmental Equipment. He and his team are very appreciative of the support Mi-T-M provides and says, “The partnership with Mi-T-M has transformed our business relationship into what feels more like a family.” Larry went on to explain, “I really can’t say enough about the employees at Mi-T-M because they all play a vital role in our ability to survive and thrive through the good times and the bad.”
Water Treatment 20th Anniversary
2018 marks the 20th year that water treatment systems have been a part of the product offerings here at Mi-T-M and Southern Environmental was one of the first dealers to sell this line. In 1998 the first Biological reclaim system was sold to Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Country Club in Orlando, by Southern Environmental. Over the 20 years that system has been in service, it has processed millions of gallons of water that has been reused to maintain the fleet of equipment at Bay Hill. The dedicated service Southern Environmental has provided Bay Hill and all their customers throughout Florida, is a testament to the performance and longevity both companies are known for.
“During my 20 years at Mi-T-M, it has been a pleasure to work with SEE and I’m looking forward to many more years to come!” – Aaron Auger, Water Treatment Division Manager

Dealer Spotlight: Alklean Industries, Inc.
Alklean Industries, Inc. has been in business since 1971 and has made it their mission to help clients achieve peak profitability by giving them the tools to operate more efficiently. A testament to the customer loyalty they’ve cultivated over the years is the simple fact that it was these loyal customers that pulled them through the recession-inducing oil bust of 1987.
Based out of Pasadena, Texas, Alklean is a leader in industrial cleaning systems and wash water recycle systems. Their humble beginnings featured only a handful of employees and a facility less than 5,000 sq. ft. Today, they’ve grown exponentially into a team of 20 employees who have a minimum ten years with the company and a building of over 17,000 sq. ft. to roam. Under the leadership of John and Brenda Purswell, all employees feel like family. This longevity is proof of the professionalism and dedication they provide to customers and each other. Everyone at Alklean is incredibly proud of Brenda, also a principal shareholder, for earning woman-owned business classification for Alklean.
Alklean offers products and services that meet the needs of customers from a wide range of industries. Such as oil field related companies, refineries, construction and manufacturing companies, municipalities, schools, contract cleaners, trucking companies, plus timber and farming and ranching businesses. Alklean serves the Greater Houston area and has a loyal customer base that spans the United States, Mexico, Trinidad, Canada and Puerto Rico.
The Alklean Difference
The Alklean team realizes that customers can purchase cleaning equipment and water reclaim systems from many different companies. However, the expertise to select, install, and service the correct equipment for the clients’ application is what makes Alklean unique.
Customers can put their trust in Alklean’s high-quality equipment, professional staff, and outstanding customer service, which is what puts this business in the Dealer Spotlight.
“The word ‘partners’ comes to my mind when I think of Alklean Industries. Both John and Brenda Purswell have been very instrumental in building our dealer network. They have always been a great sounding board and, better yet, shared real-life experiences to help make us a better company,” states Karl Loeffelholz, Mi-T-M Distributor Division Manager.
Preserving The Monuments That Honor Our Veterans
Ponsford Ltd., is the most unique conservation group in the United States and has been using Mi-T-M equipment for over 25 years. Ponsford has developed into a highly regarded conservation, restoration, and preservation group since its inception, but the tools with which they operate has required little change.
Arlington National Cemetery
From 1984 – 2006 Ponsford was granted the honor of cleaning and preserving monuments at the Arlington National Cemetery such as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the John F. Kennedy Grave. Mi-T-M pressure washers were an essential tool when it came to cleaning 300,000 white head stones in just 6 months time. That’s 50,000 head stones a month, so you can see why dependability mattered. Protecting these historic landmarks against deterioration and maintaining their integrity is vital for the remembrance and acknowledgment of why they are placed there.
Arlington National Cemetery honors those who have served our nation by providing a sense of beauty and peace for guests of the site. The impressive landscape in Arlington, VA serves as a tribute to the service and sacrifice of every individual laid to rest within the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery. As a conservation group that operates around the globe, servicing monuments of Arlington National Cemetery is an extremely prestigious opportunity. Decades of experience has given Ponsford the intimate knowledge needed to effectively clean highly valued monuments, statues, and objects.
Hot vs Cold Cleaning Power
All of this experience has led Ponsford to rely on Mi-T-M equipment because of the superior performance it has provided. Hot and cold pressure washers are used to clean these monuments and provide contrasting results. A hot water pressure washer does an amazing job of removing surface mold and other debris from a sculpture without needing to increase the pressure from the washer. This prevents erosion and surface wear that can compromise the structural integrity of the monument or statue and can be costly to repair. Cold pressure washers aren’t used as frequently on delicate surfaces but are used on heavy duty metal surfaces where a sandblasting tip is used for more abrasive applications. A cold-water pressure washer and sandblasting tip is generally used on memorials such as tanks and heavy artillery installations seen at national and local parks.
A Passion And An Honor
Owner Gordon Ponsford says, “having the opportunity to clean monuments and sculptures at such a historic and storied location such as Arlington National Cemetery is one of the highest honors. It is very important to us to preserve and honor our history.”
Mr. Ponsford points out two important reasons why he’s chosen to stay with Mi-T-M products over the years: reliability of the equipment and service from the dealers. Mr. Ponsford’s travels take him across the entire globe but he is always able to find a Mi-T-M servicer wherever he goes. Furthermore, under a federal or government contract there is no leniency with malfunctioning equipment. With Mi-T-M equipment being so reliable, he has never had to look elsewhere.
Dealer Spotlight: Pressure Washer Warehouse
History of Pressure Washer Warehouse
The Carey’s (John, Grace, and Dave) started Otter Lake Pump Company at Otter Lake in Girard, IL in 1997. They started with 3 pressure washers and some soap on their sales floor. When business outgrew that location in 2004, they moved to the current location, off I-55 in the Nickorbob’s Craft Mall area, and changed the name to Pressure Washer Warehouse. In this move, they added a full-service department and added more manufacturer products for sale.
About the Current Owners
In late 2015, the Carey’s were looking to step away from the business and enjoy their retirement. The opportunity was presented to Holzwarth Family Enterprises; and on July 1, 2016, Brett and Sharon Holzwarth took ownership, with help from Chuck and Linda Holzwarth. The Holzwarth family had been using PWW for 10+ years to keep airplanes and equipment clean, and wanted to keep the business going and growing for the community. With the change of ownership, came a full renovation of the 6,000 square-foot warehouse, doubling business hours, new product line, and a rental service.
Adding Stor-Loc tool boxes as a new product line and a rental service has helped Pressure Washer Warehouse continue to flourish. Providing a rental service allows Pressure Washer Warehouse to help businesses that are in a bind, alleviating a stressful situation with superior service. Although this service is utilized by businesses it, is also available to customers that want to rent equipment for residential use.
Pressure Washer Warehouse has retained the feel of an authentic Midwestern mom-and-pop shop through genuine appreciation of their customers. Each of the four employees create a welcoming environment and make listening to a customer a top priority. “What sets us apart is that we’re not constantly selling,” says owner Brett Holzwarth. “We’re here to listen to our customer’s needs and educate them so they’re able to make an informed purchasing decision.”
The goal at Pressure Washer Warehouse is to provide a lasting, positive customer service experience, and that is exactly what they’re doing.
Dealer Spotlight: Progressive Pressure Systems, Inc.
Over 25 years ago in the southeastern Pennsylvania city of Lititz, a partnership between Mi-T-M Corporation and a local agriculture equipment company laid the foundation for what is known today as Progressive Pressure Systems, Inc. At that time, the demand for quality pressure washers caused the ag equipment company to form a new department, solely focusing on pressure washer sales and service.
Toward the end of 1995 Martin (Marty) G. Weaver, an employee at the time, was approached by management to see if there was interest in purchasing the pressure washer portion of the business and since Marty noticed the growth potential of the new department he worked out a purchase agreement with them. In January of 1996 Progressive Pressure Systems, Inc. (PPC) officially formed. In 1997 PPS made the decision to move to a newer 6,000 square foot facility, about a quarter mile away from its currently existing location.
Today PPS serves a broad spectrum of customers such as contract cleaners, agricultural, transportation, food industry, municipalities, builders and excavators, and residential. These customers seek products, service, and accessories PPS has to offer, like hot and cold water pressure washers, water treatment systems, air compressors, generators, and much more.
Since its founding PPS has seen consistent business growth; however, staff size has remained relatively unchanged. Four full-time employees work together to provide unmatched service and high-quality equipment to each customer. At PPS, a smaller staff size is not seen as a disadvantage, as they can quickly serve customers and be contacted directly by clients – unlike what you may see at a larger company.
Progressive Pressure System’s leadership explains their relationship with Mi-T-M as follows, “It has been a pleasure working with Mi-T-M Corporation these 20 plus years. Mi-T-M has quality equipment, exceptional personnel, as well as superb support after the sale.
“When I think of Marty and his staff at Progressive Pressure System a few things come to mind. Hard work, commitment to their customers and partnership. PPS has been a great partner to Mi-T-M. They continue to source and support us in all of our product lines over the 20 plus years I have worked with them. It is a great relationship and I look forward to working with everyone at PPS in the future.” – Karl Loeffelholz, Distributor Division Manager.

“Mi-T-M is a great company to work with. They have great sales and technical support and everyone seems to have the ‘can do’ attitude which is a very important part of business,” states Greg.
Today, Hanson Industrial specializes in the sales and service of pressure washing equipment, water treatment systems, steam cleaning units, pumps, generators, air compressors, and wet/dry vacuums.
Greg’s plan is to expand current business by adding sales people and complementary lines of equipment. In addition to increasing the number of new customers, they intend to increase future business with existing clients and possibly tackle new markets and add an additional branch.
“I am proud to own Hanson Industrial and look forward to the opportunities to grow the business and become more successful, says Greg. Partnering with clients, reliable vendors, and great people here at Hanson Industrial will be the key to that success.”
“Hanson Industrial has formed a great customer base in and around the Quad Cities with all of their hard work and dedication over the years. We feel very fortunate to have a company like Hanson Industrial as our partner and we look forward to many more years of success!” states Karl Loeffelholz, Distributor Division Manager.

Dealer Spotlight: McHenry Pressure Cleaning Systems
Walk into McHenry Pressure Cleaning Systems and you’ll be greeted by Chopper, a stubborn but loveable Chesapeake Bay Retriever. “You don’t negotiate with a Chessie,” says President Dennis Black.
The cute pooch is a new addition to a company with a long history. Black has been working with pressure washers for more than 30 years. At age 18, he began working for a large Maryland auto parts store owned by the McHenry family.
Soon, he and John McHenry realized that pressure washers were a good business on their own. They started a separate pressure cleaning Maryland business and sales began to climb.
In the early days, they had a large agricultural base including dairy farmers, as well as small garages and trucking firms. As technology began to change, so too did their customer base.
“The Internet had a tremendous effect on our business,” said Black. “It increased the awareness of what pressure washers can do; it gave us another tool to get out to our customers.”
Another reason for McHenry’s growth is their partnership with Mi-T-M.
“Bar none, Mi-T-M is the best manufacturer we work with. They always support us and you just don’t find that in our industry,” he said.
Black said he appreciates Mi-T-M’s high-quality equipment, warranties, programs, and the fact they offer him private label machinery. But he especially cites the relationships he’s formed with Mi-T-M staff members.
“Karl Loeffelholz is always helping us, always advocating for us,” he explained. “Karen Anderson has always been very good to me. We have a bond of friendship.”
Like Mi-T-M, integrity has always been the cornerstone of Black’s business.
“At the end of the day, our service and our knowledge is what we have,” he said. “We enjoy helping our loyal customers.”
“Dennis and his team at MPCS is one of our greatest partners in this business. They have continued to support us, not only by purchasing equipment but always giving us feedback on how to improve our products, programs and to become a better manufacturer.” – Karl Loeffelholz, Dealer Division Manager Mi-T-M Corporation

Tech Tip: Hot Water Pressure Washer Troubleshooting
Standard HEG Hot Water Pressure Washer Troubleshooting
What to do if the burner is not firing and how to check the MV terminal.
First things first, make sure the unit has a pilot flame. If it does then the next thing to check is if the ignition control box is seeing the flame correctly by checking the MV terminal on the hot water pressure washer. Every HEG unit has an ignition control box that is powered with a 24V AC the minute the pressure washer motor starts.
The ignition control box is mounted to the left of the water pump under a black metal cover. When a unit is started, the ignition control will create a spark and open the pilot solenoid on the gas valve to light the pilot flame. Once the ignition control box senses the pilot flame, it will send 24 volts of AC power out through the MV terminal. To check it properly, use a voltmeter by putting the black lead on the TR ground terminal and the red lead on the TH terminal.
So why is the MV terminal so important to check?
Because without the 24 volts of AC power that is sent out through the MV terminal no other part of the burner circuit will work. It’s the AC power that will power the main valve on the gas valve that’s used to light the burner ring. Regardless of what options are included, all HEG units have the same power circuit process. So, if there isn’t any power that is being sent out through the MV terminal, the sensing circuit on the machine is not satisfied. Make sure to check this terminal in the first steps of troubleshooting to narrow the variables down to the pilot flame, sensing rod and wire, or the ignition control box itself. On isolated occasions, the grounding of the unit can affect the sensing circuits, so keep this in mind while working on these units. But typically, if your ignition control box is sending out 24 volts of AC power through the MV terminal, then it’s simply a pressure switch or thermostat replacement that’s needed.

A few of these industries include energy, petrochemical, industrial, agricultural and the woodworking sectors.
In 1999, AS Bryen Group bought the company. Under their leadership, the business has grown into one of the leading industrial supply companies on the island. Yet, despite its large size, more than 60 percent of the company’s staff is directly involved in the sale of high-quality industrial brands to consumers, distributors, contractors, government, and petrochemical sectors.
Mi-T-M was pleased to enter a partnership with FT Farfan Limited in 2004. Of FT Farfan’s many partnerships, the one with Mi-T-M has been especially successful.
The Mi-T-M brand brings quality cleaning equipment to FT Farfan Limited clients. It has helped them carve out a niche and build a strong reputation based on pressure washing equipment, information, and training.
Providing superior customer is important to FT Farfan Limited. Mi-T-M is also laser focused on our clients. In September 2008, Steve Cleary visited FT Farfan Limited to conduct sales and service seminars.
“Our teams found the training very informative and impactful,” said Nadia Beeray, FT Farfan Limited sales and marketing assistant. “
Over the years, FT Farfan Limited has been nimble and flexible, quick to change with the times. Their goal is to continue adapting to meet the needs of all their customers. They provide guidance and direction on which pressure washing equipment is most appropriate for specific applications. Because of this focus on the client, FT Farfan Limited and Mi-T-M have become the preferred brands for the cleaning professional on the island.
“Since 2004 when we first started to work with Ft Farfan, it felt like the making of a great partnership, and has proven to be just that. Ft Farfan has been part of our dealer business for the past 13 years and we look forward to many more years to come.“ – Karl Loeffelholz, Distributor Division Manager at Mi-T-M Corporation
As their business continues to grow, the future looks very bright for FT Farfan Limited.
“Moving forward we look towards growing and diversifying our product portfolio to include hot water pressure washers, air compressors, wash down stations, and water treatment systems,” says Richard Benjamin, Commercial and Residential Division Manager.
“We are confident that we can enjoy the same level of success due to the confidence we have in our partnership with Mi-T-M,” he added.

Mi-T-M supports that vision and is proud to partner with FT Farfan Limited.
Dealer Spotlight: Swift Industrial Cleaning Solutions
Mi-T-M’s January 2017 Dealer Spotlight: Swift Industrial Cleaning Solutions
Lyle Swift often yearns for his former way of doing business. “Somebody should close the internet and let us get back to work the old-fashioned way,” he jokes.
The president of Swift Industrial Cleaning Solutions started his Cincinnati-area pressure cleaning business in 1999. He misses the days of dropping in to see his customers, shooting the breeze, and providing personalized service. Swift says that one-on-one type of doing business changed after 911.
“We can no longer go to the back door and talk to Joe and check on the machine,” he explains. “Now we go to the front door, talk to the front desk, and try to get to Joe . . . except Joe doesn’t work there anymore and they no longer give out names or phone numbers.”
But Swift has changed with the times. With his outgoing personality, he’s never met a stranger. And he’s thrilled no two days at work are the same.
“The great thing about this industry is that I can sell to a hog farmer in the morning, get barn yard debris on my feet, stop by the office, change clothes, and go see a VP of Engineering in the afternoon,” he says.
Swift and his staff have more than 90 years of shared experience servicing industrial pressure washers and wastewater systems.
Swift Industrial serves a wide variety of industries—including manufacturing, transportation, aerospace, construction, recycling, food service, painting/resurfacing, and industrial cleaning contractors—and sells, services, and rents many types of equipment.
“Meeting the needs of industry with quality and service has always been our slogan,” he said. “I guess I have also looked at it as, ‘It’s not the big that eats the small, but the fast that eats the slow.’ After all, we are Swift.”
Ohio customers appreciate the outstanding customer service and high-quality equipment they find at Swift Industrial. The company has cemented its lines in both pressure washers and parts washers, and has carried the same lines for many years.
“This helps our current and potential customers realize the stability we offer,” adds Swift.
Things have changed quite a bit since Swift began his company 17 years ago. Back then he didn’t even have a forklift or dock, so he contracted with a local lumber yard to drop off his orders. He’s proud of the partnerships he’s formed, especially with Mi-T-M.
“A small company like mine couldn’t ask for better support,” Swift says. “Their quality is second to none. Having the floor plan has helped keep machines in stock, where many times you can’t sell what you don’t have. Their warranty support is better than any company I have worked with.”
Swift is used to hard work and believes it has been the key to his company’s success.
“I first climbed on the tractor solo 52 years ago, and was told to come home when the field was done,” Swift says.
But he’s ready for and heading toward retirement. An avid hunter, Swift loves spending time in the Rocky Mountains on a horse. He also enjoys time on the links.
When it comes to retirement, heading that direction and getting there are two different things. He’s grateful his daughter, Brandy, is working and learning the business from the office out to the service bay.
“In today’s economy, everybody is complaining of no jobs, and it is so hard to find quality help,” says Swift. “They either want the rainbow, or have no experience or both.” Swift’s name is on all his trucks and he must consider how employees represent his business. Training and retention are also ongoing issues.
Given these concerns, his retirement will most likely include taking off just September and October. He’d like to spend that time in the mountains; in the summer, he wants to stop work about 3 p.m. and play golf.
“Other than that, what else is there to do but work?” he asks. “It keeps the mind going, and for those of you that know me, that in itself, is a lot of work,” he quips.
Based in Cleves, Ohio, Swift Industrial offers a complete line of industrial equipment, including portable generators, pressure washers, portable heaters, water treatment systems, jobsite boxes, air compressors, and wet/dry vacuums.
Tech Tip: Kerosene Forced Air (KFA) Portable Heaters Not Lighting Up
Possible Cause #1
If you are trying to light your KFA Portable Heater and you notice little or no air pressure registering on the pressure gauge, there may be an issue with one of the following components:
1. Fuel filter
2. Air hose
3. Air pump rotor
– Check to make sure the air pump filters and fuel filter are clean.
– Check for a hole(s) in the air hose that connects the air pump to the burner nozzle. If you do not find any holes, remove and inspect the air pump rotor for cracks and damage.
– Replace the air hose or air pump rotor based on the root of the cause. When replacing the air pump rotor, you must set the proper gap at the top of the carbon rotor. To do this have the rotor in place and the outer steel ring loose, then place the .004 inch gauge between the top of the rotor and the bottom of the outer ring. Tighten the bolts in the steel ring.
– Next, rotate the air pump rotor clockwise and recheck the .004 inch air gap every 1⁄4 turn from the same top location.
– Reset the outer ring if any locations are less than .004 inch.
Possible Cause #2
If the proper air pressure is registering on the pressure gauge (see heater decal for proper pressure) and the heater sprays fuel, but you still cannot light up your KFA Portable Heater, there may be an issue with one of the following components:
1. Control board
2. Igniter (which is mounted underneath the fan pictured below)
Disconnect the igniter wires from the control board and check for voltage on the control board. The voltage will need to be checked within 1 – 3 seconds of turning the heater on/off switch to the on position. The voltmeter should read 120 volts AC. If there is no voltage, you will need to replace the control board. If voltage is present on the control board, that means that your igniter is more than likely the issue and you will need to replace it.
Tech Tip: Portable Kerosene Heaters
Heater Season Again
The most common heaters you will see in the field are the Portable Kerosene Heaters (or Kerosene Forced Air, KFA). To best help you tackle issues with these heaters, new or used; here are some initial questions our Tech Team will ask you.
1)What is your air pressure?
There is a small carbon vain pump on the back of the fan motor that creates air (typically under 10 PSI) that pumps through the burner head creating a venture to lift the fuel and spray (atomize). So if there’s poor or no air pressure, then there’s poor or no fuel atomization.
2) What is the condition of the fuel?
Good and proper fuel is vital. Old or poor fuel can clog up filters, nozzles and not light correctly.
3) Is there a good spark?
At start up, our KFA Heaters will have spark for 20 seconds. The spark is only for initial lighting; the flame stays lit based on proper air and fuel balance.
4) Is the heater lighting?
If the heater is lighting and how the heater is shutting down are very important indicators. For example, the most common heater problems is when the heater will start, light, run for a few seconds or minutes and then shut down and smoke. Any smoking is a sign of incorrect fuel/air mixture and in most cases is caused by poor fuel atomization at the nozzle. After double checking the air pressure, we would recommend new fuel, a new fuel filter, and cleaning or replacing the fuel nozzle.

Dealer Spotlight: ClearBlu Environmental
Mi-T-M’s December 2016 Dealer Spotlight: ClearBlu Environmental
At Mi-T-M, we’re proud of our partnership with ClearBlu Environmental. Based in Watsonville, CA, ClearBlu works directly with both wineries and breweries to provide custom pH balancing systems. This month, we raise our glass to toast ClearBlu.
ClearBlu is a full water treatment system company, committed to embracing sustainable technologies in all they do. Because they incorporate biodigester technology, their system capital costs are much more economical than other systems.
As shown in their case studies, ClearBlu is also a green technologies system designer and licensed general contractor. Over the years, they’ve built and installed many types of systems. But when larger projects required bigger pH systems, they needed to scale up.
“We wanted to develop a plug and play solution that local contractors could install,” said President Robert Bixby. “We turned to Mi-T-M to help us. They were able to modify the existing BIO 25 and 35 tanks to accommodate our requirements.”
For their water treatment systems, ClearBlu supplies:
- Digital control systems
- Self-cleaning sensor assemblies
- Mixing educators and
- Larger bulkhead fittings
“This partnership and new development has provided us with a unique product that works better than most water treatment solutions,” according to Bixby. “We now have a design available to our customers that is extremely effective.”
A Minnesota client needed a large water treatment system. Bixby packed up and shipped all his tools and parts to the Gopher State. The project goal included processing and treating all the water from washing equipment.
Bixby and his team got right to work and installed a Bio Series BIO-25R water treatment system, two 1000 gallon tanks, a HEG Series hot water pressure washer, and a CW Series cold water pressure washer.
Mi-T-M then connected Bixby with one of our Minnesota dealers, American Pressure, so they could service the equipment he installed.
We congratulate our outstanding Mi-T-M dealers—ClearBlu Environmental and American Pressure—on this large scale and innovative installation. The customer benefited from their collaborative teamwork and expertise.
If you work with wineries and breweries, Mi-T-M can help with all your water treatment installations and solutions. Please contact us today for more information.
Dealer Spotlight: Chappell Supply and Equipment
Company: Chappell Supply and Equipment
Year Established: 1980
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
He started small with a strong work ethic and a dream. In 1980, Roy Chappell founded his business in the back of a business park with just one machine and $250 in inventory. Today, as one of the nation’s largest industrial cleaning equipment suppliers, we salute Chappell on his 36th anniversary in the industry.
Chappell Supply and Equipment has been a long-time partner with Mi-T-M. In all they do, Chappell continues to provide innovative solutions and to stay informed about the complex requirements of the industrial cleaning marketplace.
“It is a pleasure doing business with a company that lives up to their word. I call it a partnership, because that is exactly what it is,” said Chappell. “Mi-T-M is interested in teaming with your company to provide a quality product to help your business grow.”
Chappell Supply and Equipment built their reputation with a focus on providing outstanding customer service and equipment and with a dedication to safety.
“It’s the key people we have,” said Chappell. “Everybody works as a team.”
As part of that teamwork, everyone undergoes rigorous safety training to become certified in electrical safety, confined spaces, fall protection, lock-out/tag-out, and emergency responses. All employees are factory trained and certified too.
Chappell believes that when you sell equipment to a customer, they are also buying your reputation. That’s why customer service is woven into every aspect of his business.
From the parts department—where they supply parts for every manufacturer in the industry—to their hose manufacturing and service departments, every team member goes the extra mile for customers. They want to ensure customers are served right the first time, just like Mi-T-M.
“Mi-T-M has proven time and time again that at the end of the day, it is all about people, and the willingness to work together,” added Chappell.
Doing the right thing pays dividends and Chappell has been recognized as a Top 15 family-owned business in the state of Oklahoma and as the 2nd Largest Environmental Firm in the Oklahoma City Area (both by the Journal Record).
Chappell Supply and Equipment is a founding member of the CETA Education Foundation and a member of the Oklahoma City Greater Chamber. For his part, Chappell was elected to the CETA Board of Directors for five – 3 year terms.
Mi-T-M congratulates Chappell for their professional commitment to the industry. Kudos on 36 years of providing high-quality products and solutions.
Dealer Spotlight: Ben’s Cleaner Sales
Company: Ben’s Cleaner Sales
Year Established: 1945
Location: Seattle, Washington
In 1945, Ben Meyer founded a small cleaning contractor business in Seattle, Washington. Now operated by the third generation of the Meyer family, Ben’s Cleaner Sales is one of Mi-T-M’s longest standing dealers. We’re proud of our partnership and are happy it’s mutual.
“Mi-T-M has people we can work with and are willing to work with us to do what is best for the situation and satisfying the customer,” said Chris Meyer, Ben’s grandson.
“I really appreciate the managers at Mi-T-M. Karl, Ron and Aaron are outstanding representatives of Mi-T-M. They are the standard I like to give as how representatives should treat their dealers,” added Gordon Meyer, Ben’s son.
Mi-T-M salutes Ben’s on their 71st anniversary.
We’re amazed by their story and their success.
After building his own steam cleaner, Ben Meyer built his company’s reputation by working with the original steam cleaning machine, using 325°F heat. He soon expanded his business to help his loyal clients service, repair and purchase their new equipment. In 1969, he turned his focus to selling and servicing.
Technology has changed a bit over the years. In the 1960s, pressure washers were rated up to 400 PSI, now they run up to 6000 PSI.
Ben’s three sons Gordon, Ron and Jerry, worked for the company throughout high school and college, and eventually full time. In 1982, they purchased the company from their parents and incorporated the company.
Today Ben’s Cleaner Sales is one of the largest and oldest full service steam cleaners and pressure washer distributors in the U.S.
With 25 employees, Ben’s Cleaner Sales sells, services, and rents cleaning and commercial equipment as well as chemicals, parts, and accessories throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
“We pride ourselves in learning exactly what the customer needs, instead of just figuring out what most closely fits their needs. We design and build what is best to help them get the job done right,” said Chris.
On a personal note, the owners had an exciting year in 2015 outside their business: The Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl and the Meyer family celebrated three weddings and welcomed three babies.
Mi-T-M congratulates Ben’s Cleaner Sales for their outstanding service. We wish them continued success with all their business endeavors and are thankful we could share their story for this issue of the Dealer Spotlight.
Dealer Spotlight: Associated Cleaning Equipment
Company: Associated Cleaning Equipment
Years Established: 34
Location: Pittsburg, IL
More than three decades ago, Bill Kissing opened a full-service gas station and repair shop. In 1984, Kissing expanded and moved his business to Pittsburg, Illinois. He began to focus on industrial grade pressure cleaning equipment. A lot has changed in the intervening years for Associated Cleaning Equipment (ACE).
For many years, we made our own hot water cleaning products. We also partnered with elite manufacturers for both electric and gasoline pressure washers. In 2005, ACE became a member of the Mi-T-M Private Label Program. This special designation means we can include our name on equipment we order from Mi-T-M.
“Our long time vendors have helped us through tough times and good over the years. Without their help and support, we would not have made it,” said Kissing.
Today, with a crew of four, we serve more than 400 companies within a 100-mile radius. What once began as a gas station, now includes our large pressure washing business as well as nine other product lines, including air compressors, generators, and industrial wet/dry vacuums.
During 34 years of business, we have experienced much growth and many changes. But one thing has never changed: ACE’s promise to serve our customers with the highest quality service and equipment on the market.
NEW Rotary Screw Air Compressor | Mi-T-M
The new Mi-T-M Rotary Screw Air Compressor was being field tested during construction of a large industrial building. During construction, a powerful storm came through and about 20,000 pounds of building material came crashing down on top of the rotary screw. After removing the debris, the rotary screw’s roll cage was damaged but the internal components were still intact and working, including the engine and pump! For durability, the Mi-T-M frame was designed to lift four times its own weight and turns out was also able to withstand the immense weight of an industrial building!
